Hello and Welcome. I saw that you posted in Above & Beyond "Why no Agoraphobia forum?" you are in the right place here at Anxiety and Depression Support. Some of us here have Agoraphobia. We are at different stages of our journey. Some have even recovered. It is so inspiring when they share. I am not recovered yet, but I have made progress. Sharing here with people who actually understand has made a huge difference for me. You could make another post with Agoraphobia in the title and you should get some response hopefully also from someone who has recovered. There is so much support here for you. I would be more than happy to talk with you about Agoraphobia. To hear where you are at in your journey and share my journey with you. Please reach out to me if you want to share.
Hi LonelyEmpath, I just saw gajh's response to your post on Agoraphobia. I was wondering
how I could have missed it and then realized it was in another hub.
Posting on A&D as well as Anxiety Support will give you an idea of just how many
members do struggle with Agoraphobia.
It's where I got my name. Years ago I was stuck in my house for 5 years, unable to
go out because of this disorder. When Anxiety gets so overwhelming, the mind
starts to think it's protecting us by putting the fear in going out.
It can be overcome eventually as it did for me. However, it can be a long difficult
journey but so worth the trip. Life is amazing now. Agora1 xx
