Wish Me luck

Today i'm going to the park with my family. There will be strangers there that i'm afraid of, but most importantly i'm afraid how I'll come across to my family. I'm afraid that my body language will be noticeable to them and that they'll either look over at me, flinch because of me or ask me if i'm doing okay....all things I want to avoid from happening. I'm afraid that ill get in the way too much with my weirdness that it'll make the outing worse. What are your thoughts on this topic?

Yes of course. Don't yours? You do seem obsessed with body language when it really doesn't matter. I wonder why you have focused so much on this? Its something we all have and do and unless you are acting aggressively towards someone or look like you are about to attack them then what's the issue? If no one runs away from you or obviously feels threatened in some way and leaves as quickly as possible then what's the problem? You are making mountains out of molehills and I wonder why?

Most of us rarely give this a second thought which is at it should be.

so body language is supposed to be some quick, unspoken thing that you do that no one should notice?

what kind of weird body language we talking about here Eric on a sliding scale…if 1 is like a slight tic ….and 10 moving your head like a chicken say what is it you think people will notice

haha...umm...i get slower when i'm around people like my whole body moves slower...when i'm thinking about someone in the vicinity of me

that’s ok to take things slow……ppl tend to notice if you’re wired and doing things too fast

Its something which is a very minor part of how we interact with others. Just a very small part of the whole which no one gives much thought too. There is no reason for it to either. It's much more important that we focus on others to make being with you a nice experience they want to repeat, body language or not.

If you fear them just concentrate on keeping a distance from them which is comfortable for you.

Yes focus on others instead. That is also turning your mind outward instead of concentrating inward on yourself which is much healthier and positive. I think you will find once you start doing this then body language will become a lot less important and relevant.

Who regulates your meds ? Perhaps, seeing a therapist, might help U with some of your anxiety.

i cant see a therapist for months...i just got into the system and think i'm on a waiting list to see a therapist

Please try to connect with the doctor’s office that regulate your meds. Please to them what U R going thru and insist on the importance of seeing a therapist sooner rather than later. Perhaps ask one of your family members to help you do this. At times, we must advocate for ourselves.

its tricky...because the treatment team i have no thinks my meds are fine...and i'm trying to switch to another mental health facility and it takes a very long time to get a psychiatrist or therapist...so the two choices are both bad
