Hey, Just joined the community here that a friend recommended to me. Been dealing with a lot of anxiety and panic attacks lately, been getting in the way of me holding down a job to the point where I just decided to get medication to help with things and I'm just trying to find some support from other individuals who might be going through the same issue and just to find a community to talk with people etc. I'm Logan, 27 years old guy, happy to be here and to hopefully get connected with sime of you. 🤘
Hello: Hey, Just joined the community... - Anxiety and Depre...
Hello
Welcome to the community Logan.
This is a wonderful community full of members that understand and will support you.
How are you doing on your medications?
🐬
Not even a week I to the anxiety medication yet, but it seems to be helping with my social anxiety unless it's just a placebo. They are starting me on half a dose of a low dose for the first week to get adjusted. And thank you for the warm welcome, looks like there are lots of helpful posts here and opportunities to interact with people.
Hi Logan and Welcome..
I'm happy you found us. You've come to the right place.
We will help you through this difficult time.
It's going to be okay xx
Hi Logan, it's me again Agora1. I've been where you are at with Panic & Anxiety attacks.
In between those attacks was free floating anxiety. I was fearful of anything and everything
but not knowing why. It was like my "fight or flight" response was stuck and wouldn't turn
off. This happens quite commonly when we seem to lose control of our lives.
What has prompted these attacks lately?? There is usually a root cause for Anxiety to take
hold. When you feel ready, we are here to help you take that first step forward.
I'm glad your friend recommended us. We care xx
It means a lot that you took the time to reply to me with such care and empathy, thank you. Honestly I think I have developed a crippling fear of disappointing people, which has caused me to develop panic attacks, so then I just stopped showing up for things. I'm still figuring out my triggers but I think it may have something to do with not wanting to fail dramatically. Honestly I feel like I have a long way to go figuring it out, but anxiety medication seems to at least be giving me an opportunity to think calmly during these panic moments, and hopefully I'll uncover more about myself and what's going on. It's a pleasure to meet you and thank you again for your kind replies.
Welcome Logan, glad you could join us. There certainly is a lot of anxiety & panic attacks going around. With the right meds, positive talk and people who listen you will be on the way to living your life on your terms. No promises that you'll find a cure, but will manage your symptoms better. Call on us, some one will answer and try to help. Navar
Thank you 🤘🩶
I’m with you on that. I’m starting a new job Monday morning.. I’m terrified. I went to the ER last night with palpitations it was terrible, I had an EKG blood tests and X-rays and nothing was wrong.. 3rd time in 6 months.. idk what to do.
Dude it's crazy you said that, I've called an ambulance on myself a couple times thinking i was having a heart failure with palpitations and yepp, nothing wrong apparently. I felt like a fool, especially the second time 🤣💀. I truly wish you a nice calm and constructive first day on Monday. Thanks for sharing this with me it makes me feel so much more at ease with myself
Welcome to the community Logan. I pray you find peace here.
