Major depressive disorder

I've going through treatment resistant major depressive disorder for decades. The trial and error process of finding the right combination still continues.

No psychiatrist has advised neuro stimulation for my case so far. So still struggling with drugs. Looking for support from peers.

Welcome

I understand that med struggle. It took a very long time to regulate my meds. It's a very frustrating process

Yeah, I'm hoping against hope that some antidepressant will work. Currently trying flupentixol cum melitracen.

What country do you live in?

Have they tried combination drug therapy. Like adding something else in addition to this medication you are currently taking

Yes combination drug therapy has been tried several times in the past. Adding Lamotrigine, Lithium... So currently the focus is on very gradually tapering benzodiazepines & trazodone, both of which are not helping me. I'm down to 1mg (from 2mg) of clonazepam and 12.5mg of Trazodone (from 100mg)

I live in India

Wow you've done well tapering off. How did you feel.

I was reading up on your med and it said it's not used in some countries that's why I was curious

Yeah, it was banned sometime back, even in India. Now it's back and appears that many people have benefitted. I've just taken it for one month. I guess i need to wait atleast for another 4 weeks to see if it's working. Clonazepam tapering is ok because it was not helping me even at 2mg. Trazodone is causing the same side effects while taking it regularly, and now, while tapering. i. e., multiple midnight wake-ups during continuous dreaming. So sleep is deeply disturbed and I'm having a very tough time.

I hope it ends out working for you.

This is a very rough time for you. Changing meds can upset so much of our daily lives.

Despite how you are feeling you are doing a great job.

Keep up the good work
