Hi Kindsoul2

Why do you think your having panic attacks more frequently? What has helped you during an attack?

I’m thinking maybe it’s a hormonal thing. I was on birth control for awhile and then stopped and it’s like the week before my menstrual cycle I get crippling anxiety and panic attacks and throughout the month but more so the week or so before

Is there anything that you’re thinking of or anything that’s on your mind right before you get the anxiety and panic attacks?

Sending you some good thoughts.

Michael, I wish that ppl that ruin it for other people (meaning doctor shop, etc) for ppl that ruin it for others, my kids dad committed suicide cuz he could not get the help he needed and turned to street drugs and I had PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, etc. And no help!!

I am sorry to hear things have taken a turn for the worse. Since you are in the USA, you can call the ADDA helpline for support.

There are lots of self help books 📚 on the subject of panic attacks and Dr Google has lots to say on anxiety and panic attacks plus there are sessions you can do in therapy.

For me personally, I found bringing on a PA under controlled circumstances and learning how to manage it, then developing a personal safety plan the most benefit.

PA attacks feel like they go on for longer than they actually do, usually 5-10 minutes. Your body reacts to the hormones flooding through you body and eventually comes a peak before returning to normal. If you are unlucky you might have another one on top of the first, maybe a third.

I hope you find some relief soon

I’m going through a rough period with PA’s right now as well. Research breathing techniques, EXERCISE can help big time. Cold water face immersion for in the moment. In the end, you have to accept the attacks and let them pass, but much easier said than done. Also, you may have to go with ssri’s.
