Do you suffer bouts of panic attacks like I do? I've left jobs, relationships and friends. I feel panicky all the time all due to anxiety and panic attacks. I reported all this to my psychiatrist in the 4 min that is allowed in our 9 min appointment. He put me back on Abilify. I hope it helps because I'm suffering.

Hi there. I have a question, why do you only have a 9 min session with your therapist?

It's my psychiatrist appointment. He allows 9 min per appt and usually I end up getting around 4 min to bring him up to speed with what's happened since I last saw him.

Hi sorry to hear about your anxiety yes I had this yesterday actually I started get very anxious during a conversation and a real panicked feeling just overwhelming cane over me so I had to step away and take a walk and breathe and regroup I guess it’s very hard!! So I feel for you!! Mine hav been a result of yrs of emotional abuse and unhealthy things around me in life over yrs !! I didn’t even understand it when I first started having this no one else did either nor were they very supportive or understanding so was even more difficult sadly!!😢 but I thankfully I found this site and hav researched and learned a lot!! Hope you can find care and supporting help here!!!💞💞💞💞🌼🌸🌻

EMDR therapy really helped a lot with my panic attacks. I’d also recommend getting a therapist, outside of also seeing your psychiatrist. Therapist will help give you actual tools to deal with tour panic attacks and not just a new medication. Which is no shade to meds, I’m on them. But in my experience you need to work with medication & therapy to see full spectrum benefits! 🙌🏼

Things will always get better! Hang in there 🙏🏼

I agree about a therapist. Only I can't find one. I've been looking literally for years.

Hey there,

I like the fact that u have identified ur prob like us here. Have u tried other means of dealing with enxiety because there are many tools the net reveal like the breathing exercises and start practicing positive thoughts. There are many tools though u can get from our fellow commuters. Try them out and let us know how is it going. Anxiety can be too awful I know bcz my trembles when I get it and I use breath exercise to deal with them. I am not on any med bcz I feel breathing exercise is helping a lot....

That's amazing you're not on medication but using breathing techniques to deal.

I feel the breathing exercises strengthens my heart especially the depression ratio. I don't know but it like it has repaired something in my heart bcz even when I hear bad news previously I would shake and my heart would beat very fast but eversince I started doing the depression which ratio is (5-5 or (10-10), nothing happens to me anymore so I do it everyday twice, but I still have to deal with my neg thoughts....

You may need a mood stabilizer like I did. You sound a lot like what I went through and I stopped ability and started Effexor and Oxycarbazepine. Along with propranolol for anxiety that has really helped. Good luck on finding the right medication that is so important

The right medication can make all the difference - it just bugs me my dr is evaluating me within minutes and putting me on prescriptions that I have to live with😐

It sounds like the appointment is just about enough time for you to rattle off

what happened and for the doctor to take out his prescription pad and order

a medication. You know it wasn't like that years ago, a psychiatrist would have

talking sessions and if need be order medication.

Now we need a psychiatrist for the meds and a therapist for the counseling.

I see that you've had trouble finding a therapist. I could imagine the wait time

is longer now because of Covid. Make that appointment no matter how long the

wait. You can always cancel should you find another therapist before that. :) xx
