My mom is not doing well. She suffers from Alzheimer’s. She could go soon, or it could be a while. I feel like I’d never survive without her, as I love her the most on this earth. I want to go with her…

My mom
Thank you! The anticipation is awful but we are spending special time together now.
I am so, so sorry. This is my greatest fear. I am glad to see you say that you are spending special time together now. You will treasure these memories.
So sorry about your mom. Going through the same with my mother in law. What you are feeling is perfectly natural. Alzheimer’s is an unspeakable disease that takes one’s dignity and puts incredible stress on the family. Try to take comfort knowing when her time comes she will be at peace with Jesus. Her spirit will always be with you. I lost my mom 18 years ago and still get little signs from her that remind me of her love. You are stronger than you think.
I can completely relate. My mom is almost 100 and has dementia. She was living with me until recently when I could no longer keep her safe. I can’t deal with Christmas at all. I want her back home with me.
I'm so sorry - that sounds incredibly hard.
my mom passed last year Jan 29 from Alzheimer’s and I’ve been missing her so much lately. Pm me or reply here any time if you need to talk about your mom I know it’s a very different time for you. I hope that I may be able to help with any problems you run into to do with caring for your mom. Do you have any help visiting the home at this time?
Thank you Starrlight. My sister is there for half the week, while I work, then I am there 4 days. We have some hospice nurses that come 3 times a week, but only for 1 hour. We have searched extensively for more help but there are very few home health workers. We are making it work, but I also have pretty bad OCD and my anxiety is through the roof! One day at a time!
Hi Dutch…! I kept my Mom out of a nursing home during her last 10 years alive. It’s brutal losing her but I take comfort in knowing what I did made her happy. I don’t know if you journal but I wrote down bits and pieces of our conversations. I’m really glad I did because it’s a source of comfort now that she’s gone. My heart goes out to you. Hang in there! I’m always checking for messages so text me when you feel like chatting.
Thank you Downinil! We are doing everything to keep her home and knowing she is comfortable is a blessing. I have OCD and my anxiety feels unbearable at times, but I do what I can one day at a time.
