sorry I keep positing about the same things! Being sick is just a huge trigger for me.
One of my students hugged me yesterday. Then, today, she was not at school because she had been throwing up last night and this morning. I am so anxious now that I will get sick from her.
I love being a teacher but I hate the sickness that goes around it makes me so anxious. I’m so lucky because I very rarely get sick, even with teaching kids. But I’m terrified I’ll get sick from this girl. It’s already been a little over 24 hours since I hugged her

you obviously are a fantastic teacher, all of your students want to hug you. your fear of getting sick is just getting the better of you. I don’t think the kids are going to stop hugging you and I don’t think it will stop making you nervous. accept the hugs and accept it makes you nervous.
based on all of the previous hug scares I think that you are in the clear.
I will say, I am very aware of your anxiety over getting sick, it’s totally real and I am so sorry that you have such a hard time worrying about it. that doesn’t mean you won’t catch something at some point. we love you and care about you, don’t feel like you are a bother posting about the same things. if you do become ill from a child’s hug, not much reason more adorable to be why you’re sick. keep being the fabulous teacher that you are, we are proud of you.
I’m not an expert but a lot of children’s sickness often doesn’t affect adults because adults have stronger immune systems. Chances are you have probably had the sickness and didn’t even know it.
Can you wear a mask to school? The kids are so sick at my daughter's school. Honestly, after going to urgent care and ER last week, and seeing every single one of those people there complaining about the same symptoms, I don't blame you for worrying. I'm planning to skip out on this year's office party at work because of seeing everyone sick. I really don't think this is me being overly anxious.
Hi Daisy, sorry you suffer like this. Not quite sure whether you are worried about getting "sick" (meaning ill in the US) or actually vomitting. The latter is a horrible worrying phobia but it is real, called emitephobia. Mine started after an incident as a child and now I am over 70 and still suffer. There are many, many of us hence the correct name for it. In fact on Facebook, there is a group dedicated to Emitephobia. I hope you dont catch anything from your student, most viruses take up to 3 days to show their ugly faces. oxfordhealth.nhs.uk/ohspic/...
