Please tell how I can keep from getting anxious before going for drs appointments. Stomach gets knots in it,blood pressure goes up and I get aches and pains. Any tips would help.

I'm right there with you. I just had a dentist appointment and ended up having a small panic attack. I just close my eyes and take a big deep breath through my nose, hold It for about 4 seconds, then slowly release out my mouth. And tell myself I'm my head that I'm ok, I'm in hands of professionals
you have to imaine they r dirty people they r just people u r just a person u have nothing then to worry abut
Sometimes it feels better to come right out and tell them you are nervous. You get the words out and feel release and hopefully you get treated with some extra kindness.

Gosh, I get this too. It was particularly bad this year because I had so much on my mind. First, I schedule my appointments early in the morning so I can't cancel it. Also, I promise myself a treat after the appointment, like my dad use to do when I was little. This year, I made myself a nice burrito.
I get stomach cramps when I get anxious. Know that these are just sensations, they may be unpleasant but they will not hurt you. Remind yourself that. Breathing exercises can also help. Like box breathing. That's when you inhale for a count of 4. Through the nose and hold for 4. exhale thru the mouth for a count of 4. Hold again for 4. And repeat the process.
I found that DARE app really helped with this. It's free some stuff might not be available until you purchase it. However the free version works just as well. Talks about anxiety and how to overcome these sensations. Maybe even download it and listen to it in the waiting room while you wait.
I find that my anxiety disappears when I'm called back cause I try to be friendly and chat up the nurses and the doctor.

ok here it goes, start doing deep breathing in sets of three before you even get ready for the appt. In fact the day before even. Sit like you’re meditating and do inhale hold for three seconds and exhale slowly. Think good things like this will pass, I got this, I am strong. Hope it helps. You can do it. Big hugs.

Always take a deep breath. It happens to me too. I get very anxious whenever I remember that I have appointment with a doctor. What scares me most is checking my BP. What helps me a little is deep breathing. You can try it too.
I am the same and pop a benzo before going, same with dentist.

I still get anxious even going to shops & I'm in my 50s, so nothing to worry about, take a book with U when U go to keep ur mind busy. Or play ur favourite game on ur smart phone, whenever I'm waiting to go in to see my doctor & I play a game I find my left leg gets restless & goes faster than Usain Bolt. Ur gonna be fine.
