I'm on sertraline now very low dose and I'm hoping this will help me more then mirtazapine. Feeling alot better then I did earlier! Seeing a doctor helped I know it will take 4 to 6 months before I feel any kind of change but I will be happier and I'm willing to wait.

On a different medication now
that’s good to hear. All best to you
You said 4-6 months it should be more like 6-8 weeks. I have been taking sertraline for about 3 months now I have seen a bit of improvement but not much, you may well be different and they work for you. I hope that they do help you.
Hi Yumz great to hear your doing better slowly but surely.Keep up the good work lovely.one day at a time.X
I have been taking it for 3 weeks now. I started on 25mg and went up to 50mg 2 weeks ago. I have felt some relief in that I am not suffering from heart palpitations as much anymore and I am able to function better in my role as a teacher. It’s not fully working yet, but I’m hoping for the “change” soon. I reading Dr. Claire Weakes’ book in the meantime. Good luck! I hope to see an update from you soon!
lol I couldn’t sleep either 😵💫. I have a prescription for klonopin and have been using a half or a quarter of one to help me through this bout of insomnia that is feeding my anxiety, but I don’t want to make too much of a habit out of it. Needless to say, I haven’t taken it for the past two nights and I have not done so well in the sleeping department. We are in the same boat.
For me, my anxiety is always worse at night. I fall asleep, but then like clockwork, wake up every hour and a half. I have crazy dreams and never get that deep sleep these days. It got to a point where I missed days of work last month and even drove myself to the emergency room bc I couldn’t sleep. That’s when I started the Zoloft. Like I said before, the Zoloft is definitely helping me get through the day. I have two little ones that also keep my very busy when I’m not at work. Nighttime is the time when everything hits me, so I’m still a work in progress there. We want to be “fixed” so badly, and I think the medicine will help, but we need to read the books and really learn about anxiety so that we can better understand ourselves. We will be okay.
Howdy, don't want to bust your hope.....I've been on 150 mg for a few years and I also take ativan, for anxiety, and amitriptyline, for neuropothy, and both meds help me sleep very good. I wake up after sleeping all night, and a little groggy, but it dissipates after breakfast. You, and others writing here, should at least think about it. My psychiatrist gives me these meds, and we fon't worry about addiction. I am truly addicted to sleeping well. You have to pres s physicians for extra meds along with sertraline. Living in the future hoping for anxiety/ depression settling completely down with SSRI drugs is unlikely for many of us. Also meditation beginning with 15 minutes of just being silent and still....just watch your thoughts , don't indulge in them. When you slow your breathing down, anxiety slows down. Best wishes to all and may the Higher Power blesd us all.
