It's going to be different from now on.

You're going to stop worrying about things that won't happen. Don't happen. Which includes just about everything you're anxious about.

You're going to stop seeing the future as a dark depressing place you don't want to visit. Come what may, you aren't always going to feel like this. I promise.

You're going to stop trying to lead other people's lives for them. Let them make their mistakes. It's the only way some people learn.

Worst case scenarios very rarely happen. Every adversity carries with it the seed of a greater benefit. That which does not destroy you makes you stronger. Yes, all the old clichès are true.

'Once upon a time

Before I took up smiling

I hated the moonlight.

Spirit of the night

That poets find beguiling

Seemed flat as the noonlight.

Once I awoke at seven

Hating the morning light.

Now I awake in Heaven

And all the world's alright.'

(Rarely sung prelude to Blue Moon).

oh Jeff1943 this is so sad poignant and just beautiful and made me really think tonight as I am trying to make everything perfect for tomorrow and failing catastrophically? Thank you for such a timely and pertinent message as always xxx

plus who actually wrote this as you describe it as a rarely sung prelude to Blue Moon but was this just your own take on it I wonder as it just seems so weirdly appropriate ? Not that it matters because the whole point of it has been so well taken xxx🫶🏽

Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart wrote it in 1935 including the prelude that I have only heard Greta Keller sing in a 1935 recording. The song has been covered over the decades by everybody from Sinatra to Elvis but the best version of Blue Moon IMO is Al Bowlly's version recorded New York 1935 all available on YouTube.

Oh Jeff, how could I have missed your post yesterday?

"Blue Moon" one of the iconic songs of the past and yet I never

had heard the words to the prelude.

Thank you Jeff for your words of wisdom, hope and understanding.

I hope you and your family are enjoying this beautiful holiday :) xx
