I started my latest bout of anxiety a month ago my stomach went tgen ringing in my ears which I can handle but even the sound of a pop can opening or something that the corner of my eye catches I literally am wincing. I started 7.5 my mirtrazapine right after this started, prob not as bad but still very much there. I read it can also be symptoms of generalized anxiety dusorder which I have. But of course I am googling horrible things like tumours. I have a Doc appt tomorrow…I am sure hes tired of seeing me. Anyone have their startle reflex go batty for a while?

Hyper senistive/Ringing in ears
Hi I just saw your post -hope you are feeling better -just wanted to say yes I relate to the startling reflex you mentioned- from what I could find out so far it’s seems like mine comes from shock/trauma that it activates my nervous system like it’s on high alert! The center of brain very activated . So I’ve been trying to learn techniques or ways to calm it! Anyway I’m still trying learn and I’m not sure if you go through this type of thing as well but thought to share in hopes it can be helpful or maybe you can share anything that’s helped you?❣️🦋
I am trying to walk alot and I think its hypercusis. It came on with the ringing in my ears. I do okay during day but come evening yikes! Even if my saliva makes a noise when I swallow it happens. But again all more noticeable in evening. I am going to see a hearing doctor just to calm me.
Ladytrue, oh my startle reflex use to be horrible. A doorbell (even on tv) would make me jump, as well as the phone ringing. I couldn't handle the fluorescent lighting in the the big box stores. I'd hear the buzzing sound and/or see the flickering. It was incredible how my mind and ears were tuned in to everything around me.
Now, I breathe away any stress like feelings. I no longer allow it to take control and grow. xx
