Over the years I have often enjoyed a cup of relaxing chamomile tea. I have been having a lot of issues with side effects from meds, so am currently trying numerous other approaches - all after conducting a lot of research (I do that for a living). I've been trying chamomile at night for my anxiety, and after a full week feel like I am seeing the benefits not only right away, but throughout the next day. It turns out that it contain a component called apigenin that actually mimics the activity of benzodiazepines. I am really excited about this and wanted to share. There are also a few research studies that point to the benefits of chamomile for GAD (never enough research because they aren't funded as big pharma is), which I have, so am hopeful that keeping up with this routine will help!
Do be aware that it can thin the blood, so if you are on blood thinners or have any sort of bleeding problems, consult a doctor. Hopefully others will find some benefit as well.

Thanks for posting this. I will have to give it a try. Currently, I am using CBD gummies (no THC) and they help with my anxiety. They are expensive, though. Are you drinking the tea? How much and how often? How long did it take after consistent use to notice a difference?
I am drinking one cup nightly as part of my wind-down routine, but I am seeing it recommended for two to three cups a day. I drink regular tea during the day, and it has theanine which also can help with anxiety, which is why I'm only drinking the chamomile at night. I am pretty reactive, so felt some relaxation pretty much after every cup, but after a week started to feel like it made a difference the next day as well. I'm actually just buying the generic Walmart brand, which is super inexpensive.
I'd experiment with it a bit to see what works for you, but would definitely give it a week or two of regular use to really evaluate it. Since it also works as an aromatherapy, I make sure to inhale the steam as I drink. Good luck! I hope it helps you.
Good post, i've also found Valerian Root tincture and Phosphatidyl Serine good for anxiety which I take at night. There is also a good book "The anti-anxiety food solution" by Trudy Scott that has good info about food, diet and natural supplements.
