My friend brought up my past about manipulating people for relationships, either dating or being friends when they didn't want to. Back then I finally realized that wasn't good. And this weekened I found out that I did a lot of damage. My friend thinks I'm manipulating him but I'm not. I'm trying my best to be truthful and get help

If you are being truthful then you are already doing the right thing. Don't be too hard on yourself.
