Neuroplasticity

I was thinking that if I take a few deep breaths then force myself out of my comfort zone on a regular basis eventually it’ll become a positive habit. Is this the basis of neuroplasticity? Can someone explain this to me in more depth (how neuroplasticity works?)

They were just talking about Hormesis on the podcast i listen to, which is basically that small stressors, like exercise for example, actually have huge benefits. It really is the basis for being comfortable with anxiety and pushing your boundaries, really important idea

Hi Artistfriend, I was addicted to exercise for years. It was a real coping skill for me. Unfortunately, now I deal with so much physical pain I have a difficult time getting into it enough. Thank- you for reminding me of that option. I guess the idea is to embrace the hardships so that the enjoyable times are more appreciated. Thanks for your reply. Have a nice day!

I've been doing immersion therapy... essentially purposely putting myself in situations that are my known triggers or stressful environments and "immersing" myself in the uncomfortable-ness of my dis-comfort and desensitizing my overly stimulated responses to slowly overcome my self imposed negative programming that's become my invisible shackles and imprisonment for decades. Been fighting depression and anxiety since my teens, I'll be 50 next year. Instead of fighting it, I'm trying to learn how to embrace it... it's not easy to undo my horrible habits, but I can definitely see the benefits.

I Included 2 links to neuroplasticity videos on YouTube, my #1 educational platform. Andrew Huberman does a podcast about MANY subjects from a 🥼 🧪 scientific perspective that I love. Dennis Simsek the anxiety guy has awesome content for reframing your Traumas and learning to control all things anxiety related. Gabor Mate has valuable information about overcoming childhood trauma, too.

Good luck 🍀 with your investigation and learning!! Let me know if you have any other questions.
