Lately I have been feeling very anxious over what recently happened with my ex. I don't really want to get too far into it, but he essentially made me have a mental breakdown recently which in turn got me admitted in a psych unit for ten days. I learned a lot of coping mechanisms there, but I am still struggling. He still has some of my things and my pets, and I have no clue when I will get them back. I am triggered by small things, and my medication has been helping a lot, but I'm not sure what else I can do to help my anxiety. Any tips would be greatly appreciated 💜

Anxiety
all you can do is try your best each day .Try working on the coping skills every day and as time goes you may find you are less anxious. Also not pushing away your thoughts or trying to drown out the things that are making you anxious , take a breath and try to think why are these things causing you so much anxiety .
You might spend some time making a plan for how to get your stuff and your pets back and what to do with them. Having a plan can help give you a sense of control and decrease your anxiety. Learning and practicing simple mindfulness can allow you to calm down, realize that you don't have to believe all of your thoughts and be able to detach from them. Just sit, focus on your breath and allow the thoughts to flow in and out like clouds. Some people have also found that "Tapping" helps them, there is a lot of info on youtube about it.
