Anxiety

I know I have asked the same questions; however, I am having heart feelings (flutters)again. I feel down because I resigned from my position and I thought it would be easy to get something quick, but I haven’t had any luck. My heart has been doing stuff, I’ve been thinking that I am about to die because of it, and I have been overthinking about a lot of things. Please help me get pass this? I want to go to the doctor, but they are going to tell me the same thing. My stomach has been having butterflies and I have been back and forth to the bathroom. I have been feeling like this for three days now, when will this pass. My son party is also putting a tow on me and school starts today. I just want to be normal.. Ugh.

A lot of those symptoms sound like anxiety. Are you working with a doctor or therapist for your anxiety? If you are worried about the heart stuff, maybe go see a doctor just to be sure. But for many people, all of these symptoms are manifest with anxiety. What do you do to cope with your anxiety? Therapy, medications, body movement, calming music? Try all the things you know have worked in the past. And maybe try out a few more new ones. Maybe go for a walk, try meditation, or find calming music.

Yes, I do see a therapist. I’ve been to the doctor too many times and she has gotten to the point where she is running out of options. She tells me all my blood work and labs are fine. She does not want to keep putting me through radiations, she does not want to keep sticking me with needles. She told me to keep following up with my therapist because it is a mental health issue. She stated, that is out of her field. I am supposed to take medication, but I try to cope with this on my own. I just play spade on my phone and iPad to keep my mind busy. It really helps; however, when I am tired of playing, what is left to do beside think about stuff.

Goodness! I would take my prescribed medication in hopes that it would, at the very least, help me! I don’t know where I’d be right now if I didn’t take my medicine. It’s a piece of the puzzle called, “my balance.” Wellness, for me, includes medication amongst other things. I’m wishing you peace!

Yes, but it has side effects. Does it?

The side effects of my meds are minuscule in comparison to the help they provide! I’m willing to put up with side effects if they help keep me balanced and out of the hospital!! Small price to pay in my best estimation...🙂

At this point at your life I would take medication ...it seems you need it right now because it is very stressful ...i went thru similar thing when i have resigned as well. It would help you and you will feel stronger and only after that therapy would work and all other things of self-help would work as well. One step at a time. When we get crisis we need some medication help. It is ok, and you would be able to stop it gradually when you don't need it( as i did). Good luck and support and hugs to you!

Thank you. Is Zoloft a good medication?

i was on lexapro, but my 2 friends on zoloft...and they are ok, it helped and they don't have side effects. I also was ok on lexapro. It is individual and until you try you would not know. As far as i know zoloft is pretty common and used a lot.
