Hey guys. I’ve been experiencing anxiety for the very first time in my life and I never imagined it would be so hard. If anyone has any advise on how to deal with it I would really appreciate it. I’ve been meditating, journaling, exercising, but sometimes it gets really hard to do anything else than stay in bed. For some context: I started feeling anxious after going to the ER twice due to asthma, it is also the first time I experience issues with my body.

listening to music , deep breathing , watching a show ,, slowing down your thoughts and thinking why you feel so anxious about it could help .
Allow yourself to be anxious. Don't fight it. Eventually it will pass.
It usually helps me to get moving. Something physical. Even walking around the block.
If you have someone caring to talk to, it's good to voice how you are feeling, if not, it's good you came here.
Reading & responding to posts can make you feel included.♡

Through my experience with a few spouts of anxiety, nothing is going to solve it short term. Sometimes you need to just take an hour or two (like watch a calm movie) to get through it. Long term answers are to understand and empathize with your feelings, your methods are some ways people try to do this. There's also writing anything from short stories to poetry, learning to play an instrument, pottery, painting, etc. You do what you feel like is making the situation better, I wish you the best.
It's pretty common for people to suddenly have panic/anxiety after a health scare. Mine started after going to a clinic thinking I was having a heart attack although in hindsight I had the symptoms of anxiety way before that.
What helped me with panic/anxiety was learning how to constructively deal with and understand it, and what helped me was the DARE Anxiety book and youtube videos and their phone app. Our instinct with anxiety is to fear it and fight with it but it's a paradox, the more you fight it and struggle with it the more it persists and the solution is to surrender and desensitize yourself to it.
Thank you! Hearing from people who also suffer from health anxiety helps a lot. I’ve been trying to take it easy and be more serious about my mental health. I sometimes think I’m about to have a heart attack, but it is mostly bc my anxiety makes my heart race. I am very positive, so hopefully things will get better soon. I will check out those resources, thanks again!
