Already suffer from osteoarthritis of knees, now over a period of 12 months niggling pain in shoulder and elbow even at times down to wrist, overnight pain as become acute especially at night, just to shower ger dressed as become a trial, already had cortisone shot in shoulder joint, started physio therapy, wants an xray done to positively get diagnosis, doctor didn't even examine shoulder, but did refer me to physio therapist, had acupuncture, first time, worked on shoulder. Every day showering getting dressed as become painful, no pain no gain, after treatment pain is bad worst at night, not much sleep, having bad thoughts of self harm, normally I can push through them, finding it hard to not think about them, and push them away

Physical therapy can take some time to work. It is very important that you do the physical therapy exercises at home according to the schedule they give you.

As a precaution I think you need a referral to rule out the possibility of rheumatoid arthritis which is easily diagnosed through blood tests. If it is RA this can be controlled using Methatrexate.Rheumatoid arthritis is completely different to osteoarthritis though the result, erosion of joint protecting cartilage, is the same.

Hey, how are you doing? I have dealt with chronic pain for years. I am so sorry you are going through acute pain. Did you hurt your shoulder or is it the artritis? I have had one knee replaced and I am not able to kneel on either they both hurt. I don't think I am getting the other one done. I guess, like you, pushing through it, is what I do. PT is important I completed that and it helped me get from where I was then to where I am today.

Hi thanks for message after repetitive cartilage tears both knees found to have osteoarthritis in 1 knee found juring surgery, doctor told its frozen shoulder no xray, seen physio therapist ,she putting in for xray due to previous history to give a definitive diagnosis, we done exercises and acupuncture, gave sheet to do exercises at home, when she gets results back she's going to her seniors to dicuss, best treatment, she did give some hope it will eventually go, as like everything it's the bit in-between from bad to good, except pain lack sleep a viscous circle, thank you again hearing from yourself, that have suffered, this helps slowly get things in prospective, hope your knee replacement comes soon.
