I have been taking Cipralex 5 mg for the 15 years. I have been feeling a bit anxious about the long term effects of the medicines. I don’t think I’m in the position to get off it.

any view or reassurance will be greatly appreciated.

I have been on Lexapro since the 2000s. I, too, worry about long-term effects, but over these 20 years, I haven't seen any mental changes that I am aware of. I believe I am a better person and have been a more patient parent while on the medication than if I was not. (I took no drugs while pregnant and nursing, which was difficult.)

So, do your research on this drug and talk to your doctor. It is hard to know with each drug what long-term results will be.
