Hi

I learned through therapy this is very common.

In order to get things done I had to take things in small bits. I got things done but at a slower pace

I hope you are well

I do and I think it is because of anxiety . for me I tend to stay away or delay things that make me have anxiety or make me feel anxious .

I’m a terrible procrastinator, I do find it helps to make list 👍

The bane of my existence is indecision, procrastination and lethargy. I think they are rooted in depression and anxiety.

Thank you, Misslillie

Yes, many ppl struggle w/ this, including me. It's prob'ly linked to my mental disorders but who knows really. A lot of ppl I know consider it 'laziness' and so I'm the laziest person I know among all my overachieving coworkers, friends and family. But then again I kinda consider myself a 'high-functioning' procrastinator (haha). If ever there's one. In fact, I'm procrastinating going to bed now. My Psych emphasizes the importance of sleep every night, but I didn't finish work earlier and it's due tmrw/today & I'm on here responding to your post ;-) So it'll be another sleepless night (whatever right?) Anyway, lookup the Pomodoro technique. A lot of ppl find it helpful. I've tried it a few times, and it's effective for some tasks but not for complex work that can't be broken down into blocks of time. If you do find a better way of overcoming procrastination, let me know.

I know my sister calls me lazy too but I think it's because of the lack of energy depression anxiety puts on us

I also struggle with this, I find it helps to do the task and then look back and realize it really wasn't all as hard as I was envisioning it was while I was procrastinating
