Anxious all the time

hi everyone. I’m new. I’ve been really struggling with anxiety and ocd related to my job. It is a very stressful job and I’m really struggling. Can’t quit- but working on getting a better work life balance. Feel like I should get myself in a better mental state before looking for another job. What do others go when they are feeling anxious about work? Thanks!

To treat my level of anxiety, I need a lot of help. I use my therapist, psychiatrist, support group, meds, prayer and meditation. But I need a lot of help.

I hope you’re able to work it out.

thanks for your reply. I need a lot of help too. Recently changed medications on the recommendation of a psychiatrist. Feel like my mind is a constant battlefield 😥

How recently? Sometimes it takes awhile for the effects to click in. It’s hard to shut up the committee in my head. I use some mindfulness techniques to keep me in the moment. That helps a bit

Actually just this past Friday. According to the psychiatrist, the medicine I was on-Lexapro- was not the best for my condition- anxiety with OCD and PTSD. She switched me to Paxil. I’ve been using breath prayers to help. I tend to ruminate over things and am definitely a worst case scenario type person.

Paxil worked for me. It gave me many years of an even playing field until it stopped working. And the psychiatrist had to find a different one.

I also am a doom and gloom expecter. Always waiting for the other shoe to drop. But it helps if I live in the day and do what’s in front of my nose.

I make a to do list and tackle one thing at a time. If I get bombarded by people who pull me in multiple directions, I add them to my list, but they just have to wait. I'll reprioritize list as needed, but the key point is that I only allow one thing to occupy my mind. Otherwise, the anxiety will drive me over the edge.
