Why is a post deleted

Two posts are deleted recently. Who makes these decisions? This is an adult site and we should be able to make our own decisions about what is worth reading or not.

I didn't see what was deleted, but it's usually because they violated the rules in some way.

That was part of the reason I posted --- I couldn't see the deleted post to see what it said. I could not make my own judgement about the post because someone made that judgement for me.

I don't think that there has been a post up to this point (from the time I that has been here) that I ever disagreed with it being taken down.

IMO - I think that the mods here are pretty good with this community. :)

I'm not sure what was deleted but admin has the right to remove things based on the rules etc

That's admins job, we can't change that.

So yes there will be times we find out a post is gone and wonder what the issue was.

Just like a manger makes a staff decision at work, admin makes the decision here

in reply toDolphin14

I hope this place isn't like some of the managers I've had at work!!!😮

Just follow the guidelines and you’ll be okay.

The link is the terms of use for Health Unlocked. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you should see a black banner. Click on Community Guidelines and they will also help you understand why things are the way they are. support.healthunlocked.com/...

Thanks for the info. I clicked on the link but could not find any black banner. Did find a HELP button. Is this what you mean?

some devices have black banners and some dont. The Help button would probably be ok. I have an iPad, not a cell.

Just scroll down to number 7.

That's a long list and it states "This list is indicative only and not exhaustive". So it seems very open-ended to me. Posts could be deleted for almost any reason the admins don't like?

Oh, for sure, i was just telling u where to look since the indicator wasn't there they were telling u about. Everywhere in the world can do that, if they disagree with u, or even just don't like u they can remove ur content & there's nothing u can do about it. We just have to do our best to stay inside the lines drawn, or try to redraw the lines if it means that much to us. That's why i prefer in real life relationships, it's harder to censor people.

I didn’t see a black banner. But the guidelines are listed under bold faced headings

The basic rules are:

1. Not posting anything damaging about identifiable other members.

2. Any posts which alarm or upset any member or are likely to. Or are inappropriate eg someone posting naughty pics (it has happened).

3. Obscene language is not allowed.

4. Stating your religion helps you is fine but preaching at others isn't. This is because the site is open to everyone equally no matter what their religion or non believers alike.

5. Suicide posts or anything which could trigger members can be taken down.

6. Anyone using the site for unauthorised purposes ie promoting their own site on here, or trying to get members to take part in questions for their own purpose. Anything like this has to be passed by the admins/mods first.

7. Anyone trolling other members, catfishing, scamming etc. Or using the site purely for dating purposes.

Of course someone is quite at liberty to delete their own posts/replies if they wish.

I hope this is a bit clearer, but I still recommend you do read the full rules though as well.

Sometimes the Admins intervene, especially if there is a complaint about the content, or sometimes the poster themselves delete it.
