That when you work night shift, people don't seem to think you need to sleep?
Why is it...: That when you work night... - Anxiety and Depre...
Why is it...
I don’t work but if I did I always wanted to try working at night. It’s so peaceful and quiet. Traffic is light.
This is true. However, people bother you at all times of the day and can't seem to understand it is night time for you. I work 12 hour nights and my kids didn't get picked up until 2 pm; I had to be at work at 7. Right after they got picked up my neighbor comes over and sits down at my patio table with her drink and lights a cigarette... So I not so subtly tell her goodbye and I get a "OK geez I was only gonna stay for a few minutes". Not her fault, because I get this from EVERYONE who doesn't work nights... But in my head I'm thinking "do you want me to stop by at 2 am and stay for a few minutes when you have to be at work at 7?" 😳😳😳
That’s annoying. No consideration. My grandmother worked on the overnight crew for a supermarket. We lived above her and couldn’t make a peep during the day because she was sleeping. She would come home eat and then sleep.
because they probably have never worked a night shift.....otherwise they would know to let you sleep.
I agree... But you would thing some things would be dictated by common sense. Lol
good luck with that....I can forgive little ones or an animal who don't know any better, but adults...geezzzz..... I had to black out my windows and use ear plugs.
Lol. I wear earplugs because my neighbor likes to mow the grass everyday. Which I don't mind. But NOBODY restrains themselves from calling, texting etc, whenever they feel like it. I'm really not complaining it's just a weird thing I can't figure out lol. People will say "I figured if you were sleeping you wouldn't answer". But I don't call people for non-emergent things at 3 am and say that to them... Lol
please don't think I'm being flip...maybe you have to have your phone on for emergency's...but if you don't ....turn it off....and if you do....politely let everyone know who calls that your working nights...and are sleeping...or trying too...and could they leave a message or you'll call them later.....good luck...I hear ya.
Lol I wish I could. I have a 2 and 4 year old.
oh....got ya....well.....then your in a very tough spot....sorry....
Lol. I'm used to it, it's just one of those weird human behavior type things I wonder about sometimes.
we care for a 5 and 6 year old now for 40 hrs. a week..I'm in my 60's and my partner is in their 50's. And as much of a joy as they are, kids that is....going without sleep would be like draggin a truck with no turning wheels through a muddy swamp. It's a catch 22. You love um...but wish they could sit down and just read a book for a few hours...
