I use it to make golden milk which is mildly sedating. I also use it to fill capsules that I use for pain. In either case, add a bit of black pepper to increase efficacy.
I am on Turmeric capsules with black pepper from Holland and Barratt, if not get the same from mate in local health shop, was prescribed aspirin for skull/brain injury, but scared of reactions to my epilepsy medications, [thanks Hunter👍] balance/equilibrium affected distinct improvement, sister heard of them she has osteoarthritis in her hands, again improvement! I'm naturally grumpy old bugger, currently on Decapeptyl, for PC affecting my hormones, even nurse in Health Centre agreed with me on that! So can't say lifts my depression?
Nothing worked for my mom's back pain, & she found boswellia extract, which finally worked for her back pain. If tumeric ever stops working, it's worth a try. She takes tumeric sometimes, too, but she says it lost it's effectiveness, so we tried this & she's really happy with it.
More news about the Decaptyl Sr a testosterone injection for to get the hormones riled up during radiotherapy sessions, a bit more serious now, reacted my osteoporosis pectus carinatum, life changing affects, incompetent medical staff should have checked before start of process, ironically did not have Prostate Cancer to start off with!😤😤😤
Yes, my doctor said it was the same as an NSAID (thins blood, like aspirin, Aleve, etc), & i have had blood clotting problems before, so i got scared & stopped using it. I couldn't tell any difference with my anxiety, but it did help my back pain. I had supplements mixed with black pepper, since that makes it absorb better.
I’ve tried it and it didn’t seem to help, but I didn’t stick with it long, so I can’t say it wouldn’t have. I have also tried an herb called ashwagandha, which I did notice benefits of for reducing anxiety.
I took several brands 800mg ashwaganda gummies, & took it kn a lesser volume mixed with htp5 & SAM-e, but none of those did anything for me, sadly. That goes to show there's no one size fits all for anxiety.
sorry to hear it didn’t work for you. Definitely no one size fits all- just sharing what has worked for me, and I have experienced a noticeable difference from taking this.
Have u ever taken diphenhydramine (Benadryl)? That seems to work for me for anxiety more than any natural supplements I've tried (the afore mentioned ones, GABA, magnesium, lemon balm extract, and many others I can't recall). I just take one 25mg tablet & it helps so much. I tried it after i was prescribed hydroxyzine (which is also an antihistamine), but it was more expensive & i couldn't afford to pick it up one day, so i tried the diphenhydramine & it worked just as well. I had it at my house to use for sleep, so i decided to try it for anxiety. For some reason, whatever causes my anxiety must have to do with the histamine in my body. Of course, if ashwaganda is working for u, there may be no need, but keep that in mind just in case u have anxiety that it doesn't help. I just wanted to return the favor & share what works for me.
I take that sometimes for sleep but never considered taking it during the day. I’ll keep it in my back pocket for particularly tough days. Thanks for the tip!
I find that taking CBD (no THC) helps with mild anxiety. THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol is the ingredient that is responsible for the "high" and I don't want that. You will need to research this and purchase it from a reputable store. I recommend a store, rather than online, because you can't be certain what you are getting online.
Chamomile is actually a very effective natural aid for anxiety. I make a tincture of it and put it in my daily water and I also drink it as a tea with lavender regularly.
I have taken it to help pain, but but hasn't helped my anxiety at all. Magnesium, GABA, & Benadryl (antihistamine like hydroxyzine, but way cheaper for anyone without insurance) work best for me.
Edit: i should say, it's diphenhydramine that i take, the off brand, not name brand Benadryl. I take 25mg usually twice a day. I tried it because hydroxyzine worked a bit for me, & it actually did work. It's worth trying, IMO. It's also sold as a sleep aid but people with anxiety know that almost nothing will make them sleep, so don't be scared to try it in public, thinking u will slur, or be tired. I almost don't feel it at all, it just takes the anxiety away, enough to be able to deal with it, & not turn into a full blown panic attack.
