my doctor has advised me to increase my mitrazapine from 15mg to 30mg, I did increase last night but I’ve had a rotten day today, just feel heady and heavy and a bit breathless like everything is a effort. Has anyone else had problems with mitrazapine, should I go back to 15mg or just try to carry on with the 30mg. I’m a bit scared any input would be good

increasing my mitrazapine
I would suggest checking with your doctor before adjusting the medication on your own.
Hi, I am on 45 mg Mirtazapine. It does take a while getting into your system but I don’t have any side effects with it. Try it for a few weeks x
I would suggest continue with the increase in dosage, especially if the lower dose is no longer as effective. Meds always take a while to fully work. If you have any intolerable side effects, contact your doctor. Hope you feel better!
thank you for you kind reply, I’m going to increase slowly I think, I need to get my anxiety under control and increasing my medication seems to be the only option. I just don’t like the side effects I was getting but I will ride it out. Thanks again for your time and kind reply
I'm actually on 45 mg and nothing has worked so well for my depression. You may want to just ride it out or possibly see if you could split the pills and go up more gradually, perhaps taking one 15 mg plus one half of a 15 mg each night until your body adjusts. Check with your doctor and see what she/he suggests.
hi and thank you for your kind reply, I think I will try to gradually increase the mg and split the tablet so I’m taking a 25mg and 7.5mg together, I don’t do very well with medication as it scares me, but I need to find a resolution to get my anxiety under control, I feel like I’m damned if I do and damned if I don’t. My doctor is just useless his attitude is just do it and get on with it. Thanks again for your helpful and kind reply
I've had anxiety most of my life & am almost 70. After much research I've finally gotten it under control with deep breathing. There are several breathing techniques & you can google them & see which one is most comfortable for you. They recommend doing deep breathing for 5 to 10 minutes before you get up, before bed & a few times during the day, especially when your anxiety is up. Once I got used to the method & started practicing it, my anxiety improved to the point that I got off Busperone & am taking alot less Klonopin. I also practice gratefulness before I get up & before bed which trains your brain to see the good things in life instead of dwelling on the bad. Good luck & never give up.
thank you for your kind reply, I will definitely give the breathing exercises a go and try the greatfulness thoughts a go, I just want my anxiety to give me some peace, the older I get the more anxious I seem to have become. I’m so scared all the time, but I do have a lot to be greatful for and perhaps concentrating on that might ease my busy mind. Thanks again for taking the time to reply, it’s very much appreciated
