I’m allergic. Bad rash from trying that. Didn’t know I was allergic to anything before it.

I found it made me a little manic. I’m very sensitive to meds with manic side effects though.

I have tolerated Wellbutrin or Bupropion for many years. I take it with Escalapram for OCD. It seems to soften the emotional effect of Escalapram, which feels more sterile and clinical without it. I have had no problems with it.

Hi!! I've been on Bupropion for many years. It helped me to stop smoking. I think it also helps with weight gain. I eat regular meals but I do not eat too much nor want to, Bupropion, MIGHT, have a little to do with that. Good Luck!!!

Honestly, nothing has worked as well with as few side effects as mirtazapine for me -and I've pretty much tried them all. Do you take the mirtazapine at night? That helped me with the weight gain, as I didn't have time to snack before going to sleep, and the increased appetite has worn off by the am. Keep in mind that all antidepressants have possible side effects, so in the end it may come down to making the choice that works best for your overall health. Hopefully the wellbutrin works for you!

Unfortunately, as you can see from the responses, I think everyone has a different experience with the same medication. Maybe try it, and see what it does to you.

I love wellbutrin. It makes me feel "happier" than I used to.

I have been on buproprion for about 5 years. The long acting one: 150mg twice a day ( 300mg total) as taking that long acting one all in one dose can cause manic episodes.

I also take Paroxetine ( Paxil) 60 mg once a day and buspirone 20mg 3x a day. It works on anxiety but is not a benzodiazapine like clonazepam or Ativan.

Honestly? Buproprion has helped my depression a lot. I think my psychiatrist built all those meds up slowly. Yes he did. Buproprion tends to add a sort of ... ummmm ... peaceful feeling and boosted my paxil (paroxetine).

Everyone is different. Best thing is to try the med at a lower dose and build up if you don't get a helpful effect

Buspirone ( Buspar) is a funny anxiety med. It can take several months or longer to reach full effect and you don't think it's working. Then one day you notice that, though you may still feel anxiety in some situations you aren't having the big panic attacks and generalized anxiety is much less. That is my experience anyway.

Hugs!
