feel so anxious on 25 mg sertraline
Hi RayannAbbey, I was put on sertraline a few years back and noticed my anxiety episodes got worse and closer together. However I must stress this is from a personal opinion so please discuss with your dr . Im grateful that I had the though it could be the sertraline as drs here just kind of give you the tablets and leave you to it , so it’s good to monitor your moods yourself . I tapered off the sertraline and went on escitalopram which works amazing for me ! Hope you find the medication that works for you too 🤗
thank you x what dose did you take ?
I can’t remember to be honest, but it would’ve been a low dose to start with , then possibly increased to a bit more . Maybe the anxiety symptoms would’ve settled down once I was on it for a while but it got too much for me so I changed to the escitalopram . Keep monitoring yourself
Don’t remember any other side effects apart from the increased anxiety. Not having any side effects with escitalopram
I've been taking it for a short time. It has just been upped from 75mg to 100mg. I however have also been taking BuSpar, an anxiety med, on 5mg, just upped to 15mg with it. When I first started taking Sertraline alone my anxiety was higher on the 25mg, until increased.
thank you x any side effects?
I was also on high dosages of seizure meds for a while so those had a large effect on me. But now that i'm off of those, the only side effects I might have from that medication is dry mouth, and a slight increase in my headaches.
It's important to note that in most cases it won't feel like its working until you reach higher numbers. But if you stop taking it then you'll notice it was. (This was told to me by two different medical professionals) But definitely always consult your own doctor for any medical advice.
my dr didn’t tell me what they told blue lizard about the anxiety decreasing once the meds have been upped to higher dose …. So definitely discuss your concerns with your dr ….💕
I was on sertraline for a number of years and worked up to 200mg/day, the only side affect I had was some mild sexual dysfunction (delayed climax) which is pretty common. It didn't help with my anxiety, the only med that did for me was klonopin, but we all react differently to meds. The thing that is heightening your anxiety is your thinking and focusing on it which just maintains it and increases it. Understanding that anxiety is a paradox and the more you focus on it and struggle with it, the more you maintain it. I know it's hard but try to focus less on it and get on with your day. I found that meds helped my anxiety but learning how to constructively deal with it helped more. I suggest the DARE Anxiety book and youtube videos to learn about it.
