Thanksgiving has always been bad for me. Its the start of the holiday season which is awful. As a child we went from family member to family member celebrating, I was always vomiting in some Aunt or Grandparents bathroom from anxiety. As a teen it was worse because my parents divorced. My mom wasn't nice about reminding us that our dad was absentee and my paternal family didn't want to be a part if the mess. More time in some bodies bathroom with stomach pains. As an adult it was the same. Today we did Thanksgiving and I felt great! Then my only niece in law announced they were pregnant! In going to be a Great Aunt!!!

Wonderful break through, and congrats!
We never know what's around the next corner. Congratulations on soon becoming a
great aunt. I'm happy for you that your Thanksgiving was great xx
Well that was short lived. My sister and her husband decided to take a two year sabbatical and travel the country, I already knew that and is part of my recent anxieties. She and my nephew are the only family I have left. She called today still excited to be a grandma. Her plans suddenly hit me. I asked her a billion questions about missing out on first Christmas and that type of thing. My sister is just like oh well. I'm worried she's detaching herself from everything. She found our mother dead a year and a half ago. Granted we're both in our 50s but that's when she decided to do the sabbatical. Now she won't be around when grandchild will be born. What if her only child needs her?
I hate this time of the year.
