Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and as with alot of Holidays, the meaning behind it often gets overlooked. It is a day to give Thanks for what we have, what we value...what we treasure.
I am thankful, blessed, to have a loving supportive family. Not all have that. My mom, who passed in 2014, suffered from, and understood depression/anxiety. She stood by me, and all of her children, until the day she was called home.
I am thankful that I have a roof over my head, not a palace, but a place to lay my head. I am thankful for not being hungry and worrying about my next meal. I am thankful for my physical health. I am thankful for my freedom.
I am thankful for this site, a member now for little more than a week, and the genuine caring, compassionate people who come here to give and receive hope to each other...to strangers. It has lifted my spirits and helped to restore some of my faith in my fellow man.
I am thankful for the courage I have to set in the darkness and hope for the light.
I am thankful for my son, now 27, who will never know how many times I struggled, and succeeded, only for him. I could fail me...never him.
I am thankful for each of you who have supported and advised me, or simply left a kind word. Please know the power, the worth, that you have to others in need.
I am thankful for so much more...
Please take a minute to remember the good things in your life.
Wow! What an amazing post. Thank you for sharing and inspiring. I am still quite new here and I really do treasure all the support and everyone is so welcoming and friendly. I am thankful for finding this community and I'm also thankful to have a loving understanding family. I lost my mum 2 months ago, I really miss her. Have an amazing thanksgiving! !
You’ve been here a week, seems like longer, I mean that in a nice way, you’ve become part of the community so easily ,and it’s as if you’ve been here a long time...😊 and I’m very glad you found us here !!
It’s good to think about the things we are grateful for, as we often forget or take them for granted, so thank you for the reminder and for sharing this....it’s lovely to have more of an insight into your world 😊
It’s lovely what you say about your son ..it’s so precious to feel that unconditional love ...
....
Being in the uk we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving but, a couple of years ago I was extremely fortunate to be in Michigan for Thanksgiving ..staying right on Lake Michigan, such a beautiful setting ! The lake was frozen solid and I recall one memory of being in a hot tub looking out onto Lake Michigan in the snow ⛄️ wow..for those memories I’m so very grateful..whenever I feel low or anxious it’s one of my ‘go to’ memories to help and distract me...
Spending Thanksgiving there was amazing !
Every good wish to you and yours..Happy Thanksgiving ! 🌺🌺🌺
I'm so thankful for everyone here! Thankful that you'll helped me hold on when I didn't want too. Thankful that I didn't end it. Thankful for my supportive husband and my dogs. Oh, so thankful, I could cry (but I'm at work)
And I, we, are thankful for you and that you ARE still here. We will each have that day and your voice will be needed...maybe the one that keeps someone from ending there life.
You matter. We all do.
Never forget your power...even if is only to say "You are not alone."
And thank you for reminding me to be thankful for my dogs (Boxers), Tater and Mater...disobediant scourges who are lifesavers...and nerve-wreckers.!
We know you love us, Alan! We love you! Don’t talk about our big portion sizes! I’m gonna eat tomorrow. News said Americans eat between 3,000-4,500 calories (I am rounding up, I don’t remember the number & I am too lazy to google) on thanksgiving. 😂😂😂
I am so inspired! I’ve been planning a thanksgiving post for tomorrow as well! Thank you for this. Wow, a member for only a week & already so respected in this community! I’m so thankful for you too! Welcome to our little forum family! We love you!

Ahhhh! Yes! My pops is already starting on the food! I’m headed to my partners dinner tonight. It’s gonna be huge! We are running a little late, because we had to pick up flowers for his grandma’s grave & we bought cupcakes for the dinner. I hope you have a happy thanksgiving! I’m sure I’ll wish you one tomorrow as well if you’re on! Xoxo

Actually will have one tomorrow at my Dads.
Then my son is in town Friday, so one more.
And on Dec 1st my brother, who is a long distance truck driver will be in, and that will be the 3rd and final Thanksgiving Dinner.
I see a food coma in my future.
Enjoy yourself. Stay safe.
You matter.

We have three too! I have to go to one on Sunday too. It’s in Chicago with all my mother’s family. So we are flying in this weekend for it. Busy, busy weekend!!!! Stay safe as well! You matter too! 💕💕💕
I am thankful for your gratitude for the simple but important things many take for granted and you appreciate them. I here so much about being unhappy, but not having a roof over your head, knowing where your next meal is coming from, having simple things that make you happy and some cost nothing...that's what I am grateful for too. I have this place, I need this place....I have lovely friends and now I think of you as one too, you have said kind things to me and encouraged me as well....thank you and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Thank you for the simple, yet often overlooked advice of giving thanks. May we incorporate that each and every day. Grateful for the support found here!
