Trivial Pursuit: Neighbors Edition

Have you ever had an, let's say, interesting neighbor, and how did you deal with them⁉️

My new neighbor, let's call him Ponytail Boy (guess why), is passive aggressively running water. That is a sentence I never thought I'd utter, but it's true.

The building I live in is pretty dated, so there's basically no sound absorption in the walls or floors. The pipes are also pretty old and loud, so when anyone runs water, their neighbors can hear it.

Ponytail Boy, apparently, really doesn't like this, and has started to turn his faucet on and off repeatedly whenever I use water. I could understand if I ran water all day, but I use water like, I don't know, a normal person. I shower with it, drink it, etc.

I cannot imagine the life of someone who has nothing better to do than sit on the couch, wait for his neighbor to turn on water and then run to the faucet.

The previous neighbor was an alcoholic, who outside of a few drunken outbursts, never did this.

I think he expects me to never run water. That is the most entitled, unreasonable request ever.

When my current upstairs neighbors moved in the would be up all night until 4 or 5 am stomping around and yelling and playing tv/music real loud. Then they got mad when we would knock on their door to ask them to keep it down. Like, I'm out of line for wanting to be able to sleep at night? Had to complain to my landlord like six times before he finally got them to quiet down. They still do it once in a while but its much less frequent (it used to be 4 nights a week). What I wouldn't give to live somewhere quiet! Good luck with your strange neighbor.

I have loud neighbors above me, to the right and to the left! It's nuts! I'm glad you got some reprieve from yours. It's the small battles we win lol

Sometimes living in an apartment is tough because everyone hears everything. And some people can be really nosy. You might mention something to someone and then suddenly it can seem like the whole building knows about it. Some people don’t know how to mind their own business.

Googoodollsfan it sounds like you've had your fair share of issues with neighbors, ha!

Katydid333 wow! I can't believe someone would call the police on a delivery guy turning around in their driveway. What a male Karen, ha. Also, at my last apt complex, I had alcoholic and drug addicted neighbors set their apartment on fire and cause police standoffs, so I feel you on the wife.

I'm glad you and your husband got out of there!
