Stimulating The Grey Matter In My Skull

After reading a post from another member about coloring books, I decided to pick up a coloring book just to have a little something to do during the day. Haven't done it since I was a kid so I'm sure it would be great fun.

While I was at the store I found a puzzle coloring book. I said to myself "this looks like fun"...... Holy crap, I had no idea how much of a challenge this actually is. I completely underestimated the stimulating effect of doing one of these coloring puzzles. Some of these are more difficult than I would have ever thought, which is great

I understand a little more as to how any form of artwork can help, not only, stimulate, but it also takes lots of time. Which in my case, is something I have a surplus of.

My hat-off to member "Brig"for the idea .

That looks like fun. I have a bug book. I am addicted to Wordle ... You only get to play once a day so you can't get too into it.

I like to say…..”Coloring ain’t what it used to be”. I took it up a while ago. Went to Amazon to shop for books and I was bowled over by the choices available. Loved it. It’s a great hobby, you do it for yourself, no rush, no critics, no rules (just stay within the lines). When coloring, the focus is on the project and everything else fades away. Enjoy….😊

It's amazing how much concentration it takes for something that we think of as seemingly so simple. It's a much needed distraction. I'll do my best to stay within the lines... 🤣

I love to color! I do it with my kids but then I have my own coloring books that no one can touch but me. It really is a great form of art therapy that anyone can do with zero skill. I also do sudoku when I feel that I am not grounded. It makes my brain work and brings me back down 😁

It really is great fun. Funny how it brings out the kid inside. The puzzle coloring book I purchased is a lot more work than I thought. But that's exactly what I need, something to really get the mind and eyes moving. I remember doing coloring books with my son when he was a little one. I had to laugh at your comment.... "I have my own coloring books that no one can touch but me" ,,, that's commitment.

Im really enjoying it. Definitely keeps me busy .... 😀

Diamond art.... I'll definitely look into that. Don't feel bad about people making fun of you my friend. I'm 53 years old and I don't care what people say, I've been having a great time during the last few days working on this color puzzle. It's always good to feel like a young child at heart. I don't want to grow up!

I JUST bought an ocean 🌊 life coloring book 📚 a couple days ago! While I was out on medical loa for 3 months this spring, I completed three 2500 piece and five 1000 piece 🧩 jigsaw puzzles. I found coloring books to be quite similar in quieting and satisfying the mind 🧠 in the act of completing a task with tangible results. Very therapeutic on a bunch of levels.

Hello, this has been extremely stimulating. I continue to work on it almost daily and it never fails to amaze me how much time I can kill and how much I can keep from entering my mind while searching for these items to color. Lots of fun for sure.
