What language for depression

Really nice topic which I like and dislike at same time beckause it concerns me. It is all about overthinking as I understand it, and therefore it is common that often smart people get these kind if illness, especially if they have been under pressure a long, yes, maybe even very long time, so I like when you say things like you are overthinking and so on, those terms like too smart that you are crazy sounds better.

Otherwise worse terms are stupid or even if it is a little better better little bit stupid but for the sensitive one not good either, actually I cannot find any term which I dislike because I am not thinking about it in form of terms. But depressive person sounds ok, anyway, I do not like that term either because it is like declaring that you are feeling ill officially which can be shameful for some people like me.

I always think the old fashioned word melancholy was a good word for it, sounds somewhat wistful and yearning even poetical - and depression sounds what it is, deeply sad and flat and not wanting to do anything… I always think the psalmist David got it right when he described it as a pit and no matter how hard you try, you can only sink deeper and deeper..
