Mixed Feelings

As a veterinary anesthesiologist...its not that i am not against medications........we use them in vet med all the time...for safety reasons to the practitioners and in my mind......comfort and pain reduction ..........all medicatons are dangerous and the potency varies per the drug and the dose and the patient.......tons of factors......

As a horse trainer and teacher...anxiety is a universal......we just train and work thruogh it...hower i do get the arguement as long as its not over done........some people are crippled with anxiety and if medications aid them in the quality of their life........great.......

Medcine is complex.......my main resentment is the system just hands the meds, no blood work hisotry and .....then they fail to counsel pep;le on side effects and tend to label and mislabel people. with horses we know enironment plays a huge part.....also companionship, diet. some barns play callming music........common knowlege.......Mare repro cycles are changed wth lighting......we vets know this........its our medical counter parts who tend to treat us as morons.......i mean honestly they talk down to us like were 2dn graders but our educaton is totally on par with human docctors and we have huge advanced referal hospitals same as human medicine........

Medcines are drugs and i dose low to effect and watch.......as each patient is unque.......not philosphically but a hundred medcial factors.........i dont appreciate pill pushers v st judes .....who treats people holistically and spiritually .......whatefer works works.......

im not against medcines......i dont like the superficial way so many doctors hand out meds......anoer meds and polypharmacy........im not pushin anyone to see things my way........im not ........going to surrender control of my body my life........to somene .........but im the doctor u can trust me.........

sorry.............i have throussands of hours wth good ones and morons........good experiences and horroible.........im not ........handing over authorty to anyone ........just because they say they are a doctor.......and ifr that makes waves here.........fine.......so u have faith.......great u have a good one.........tons of totally incompetent ones out there too..........im happy to state my case and leae sincce all i do is cause trouble............most doctors and mental health people are far left .......some issues i agree but most are automaticaly anti military.........sorry......where i get off the bus.........i want and by experience demand control over my body my life.........from experience not opinon ..to each his or her own........im no ones leader.........but m not having their sysem shoved down my throat.

I don't find their political views to be relevant for most medical workers. If it were you could argue Pharma is right and that is who influences meds today. Money has more influence.

I have been researching psychedelics quite a bit. They are in a renaissance . When they treat you with MDMA for PTSD which is nearing FDA approval, you get one ~ three treatments and you are done. Most phsyc meds are for at least months if not life. Pharma doesn't make money off a one and done. Keep that in mind when you are researching.

i have a medical back ground. i am well aware of money and pharma. Some people have good counselors that dont mix counseling with poltics.......i have met some. However ...i have been totally burned by those who are not so ethical. It fine and i accept and hear.......u have had good experiences with some** ethical people.....fine terrific...........some are........however..........i more than many times......keep butting heads with mhs and being called........very military........etc... and seriously being steered and played by as i said accurately per my experiences.........most except fror chriistina cousnelors .....that ie bumped into........have a serious left bend.......my expereince.....and seriously been burned by them........my experience not the whole world.......granted.......been played over and over again by over trustingt people........glad u have people u trust......even others that i know who are th kindest of the kind.......labeled as personality disorders.......glad u have trustworth people.

i was run out .......of my surgical residency .aand followed around town......by ex p nurses..........broke into my life script.......ruined my reputaton wth my grandparents my famiy........(see knw he couldnt cut it).......one time..........one tme in many been tottaly scrwed byu the mhs .........i ...............get stuck ...........with false reputation

Sorry you had a bad experience. Even if there is a group of mean people it doesn't mean most are like that which I think you see.

I haven't had a good experience with pharma at all. That is why I am interested to see what happens with psychedelics, esp mushrooms. I have fired one doctor outright and left others. The reasons were not political. I currently have a couple of very good providers and I am grateful for that. Though there is a continuing debate about the kind of care and services provided based on religion I don't think that effects the way the vast majority treat you. If putting patients first and practicing data driven medicine is left wing then I definitely prefer left wing.

i was raised .....in the calvary system and horsemanship out of ghetto barns

all barns of note or creditilty are run per rules and systematically ...for safty and not democratically.......thats how it is and same as when we run lessons......for safty..............we get labeled as ver military and and and by ultra left Peta like people who have no experience and against the military autmatically and full of biases against the military families and those in horses are autmatically spoiled (sure some are......at the top.......weere the poor kids but get lumped autmoatically and no.........not one mintue to explain or not get mauled.....).......and we .......that run educational progtram butt heads iwth liberal parents and counsleors and social workers who misinterpret our necessary structure.........and have this pie in the sky clueless attitudes abot horses and the hors and vet industry and we get mauled tme and again by their leftist ignorance. We didnt make the system......u cant run it the way they want.......and they want to argue and tel us were wrong and annd ......they have zero tme in our worlds and throw their wt around........wrongly........they have no clue abot horses.......i have 55 years......in this area..........structure is necessary in working wth horses........there are some lovy feel good moments........however.......thats lke saying all children are beautiful........toosh.......u wecome to ur views.......but in our areas of immesne experience we are sick and tired of being mauled by ammature know it al beginners ..........we have no idea where they are coming from..........and get tired of buttng heads withthem........ur welcome to ur whatevers fine.........but ...........im just sayhing that for us........we have tons of very real verhy biased very negaitve experiences with the system........full of their own biases ........yes some counselors are not that way...........however iv e seen counselors goi against wives in court telling the judge shes crazy bought off by rich cllents and parents who use counselors to their own .......and counselors who tell profound PTSD people.........ill cure u in three sessions.............bull........bull bull ........ivd had counselors of 26 years experence tell their clients......literally .......nothingt to worry about its really a safe world.........

I have no respect for PETA. Yea they have some valid points but they go way too far and are ignorant and lack common sense. My opinion. I don't see "liberal" and "far left" as the same thing at all. I consider myself liberal. I have gotten into some disagreements with left and right. One really bad one during covid.

You should check out Micheal Pollan. There is a documentary on Netflix and he wrote a book about psychedelics. They do not work like any other med. You also should not expect to just "swallow a pill". You get a guide. Of course pharma is trying to change that but they can't make shrooms extinct so their reach is limited. there are pluses and minuses with everything of course. I may never try it myself but I find the whole topic interesting and telling about the medical and political system as a byproduct.

Nobody should be telling anyone it is a really safe world. That is just not reality. You can learn how to be resilient though. I could go on for hours on that topic but I will leave it there for now.

Im interested in psychedelics. There is a documentary on Netflix i watched very informative. I can’t remember the name right now. Would love to try the mushrooms i’ve heard people have been healed. I have tried ketamine infusions, which have helped but the positive effects don’t last long enough i’m lucky if i get a week of no physical pain. They are very expensive too. I live with chronic stomach pain for 31 yrs Starts from stress and anxiety. I’ve heard there’s a book on microdosing mushrooms haven’t tried to find it yet. Learned about the book on the Netflix Documentary. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff or information?

I think it is called change your mind. I’ve considered going to a retreat. They are in countries where it is legal. Right now the only way you can try it is to grow them in a community where it is deprioritized. I’m not going to grow it so I wait. I’m not sure about micro dosing. It feels to me like a way to feed yourself something for life…like a pill. I would rather experience it like it was intended in a controlled way and be free of it.

Making it into a scheduled dosing med it just what pharmaceutical companies want. That’s how they survive financially. What if it works better as a guided experience or ritual as the indigenous have done for centuries? I agree with Pollan that we have to be careful. Watch this space

I have had several ketamine infusions this is the only med that has truly helped me. It’s being used off label for anxiety. Very expensive though, I’m desperate I would try anything if it was safe. That’s why I’m asking about the mushrooms I also would love to try it in a controlled way, but don’t know if I will ever get the chance. But if Only the microdosing was available and safe I would give it a try. What did you mean by watch this space? Is it a documentary or movie.

Ketamine is a dissociative general anesthetic agent. it works by taking the place to a dissciative area......and has strong pain killing properties. it design is to be metaboilzed on a short term basis so that the patient can recover to conscous level in short tme. therefore even as an infusion its effects may not be long term.......however response to any drug is relatie to the patient. wise practioners know any compound has differnt effect dose v toxic dose which again relatie to the patient.......ive seen patient die with vaccinations and penicillin.........As an anesthesia doc......i low dose and then wait as the effect of the agent is not instant unless Iv....and still wise to wait before redosing........once in ......u cant get it back in and one shold know if there are antidotes esp with expereimental. i m not .....not telling u expereinmental drugs are or cant be userful.....medical ,marahuana.....(sp) i dont use this so i dont knowthe dosing.........just sayhinig best to go slow do the resaech and do test doses.....als owhat are th clearance rates........and how long do they bulld up..........sayu one dose and stops being effective means ur undr the pharm level .......it doesnt mean the blood compartment doesnt hae that drug still there and one can over dose a patinet....i say this as my famly are over confident loud mouths who give all kinds of freee medical advice and tell me im full of it.........im the anestesia doc and they like many horses trainners tell us vets were full of it........til they kill a horse.........or anima.........its up to u........just warning anyhone not just u.........u dont know how u will react to this agent and effectie v toxic levels...........go slow.......be ultra careful.......ive anesthetized hundreds of anmals..........im extremely

I don’t actually go into anesthesia during the infusions. I am totally conscious the whole time and being monitored by nurse and Dr. That are very reputable. I know of a younger woman who said she goes every 3 months and hers lasts that long. Maybe because I’ve had my pain for over 30 yrs.

u were using a general anesthesitc agent that was sub unconsoius. im not telling u u were wrong.....nor irresponsible its ur call......however i can drop an elephant with these drugs.....they are massively powerful ......just lke gasoline is a tool........in the right hands.......not saying its not a useful tool inthe right hands......thats ur call just sharing before i hear another trageduy........as i said........seen horses fall off the needle with vaccinations........up to u. ......

I don’t think ketamine is exactly the same. There aren’t regular deaths from mushrooms. Watch this space means watch the news. Read the articles. Read micheal pollans book, interviews, documentary. He is probably the most knowledgeable and accessible

So literally the mental health treatment is not about healing with meds. There is nothing that you take like Tylenol. That you need a pill for life is marketing. Pharma doesn’t even pretend to try to have a pill that actually helps *heal*. It is all bandaid. If psychedelics don’t need multiple doses why would you want to micro dose? People have taken them for centuries. They don’t micro dose. They don’t pop it wait for it to work either. The challenge is always going to be who makes money.
