it is some kind of antidepressant, which I think maybe is little bit old but still common used , actually there are some new modern medicines instead of that one which works in other ways, can be better maybe also depending at the person, little bit individually I 🤔

It is very helpful in many different fields in mental disorders. There are modern ones for sure. But often just facelifts like Citalopram and Escitalopram. Many people react much better to the older brother Citalopram. Often the mechanism of the SSRI‘s is not the best option. That’s why it’s sadly a long process to find the best medication for even people with exact the same symptoms. Often it’s even a good choice too look to the A typical neuroleptics:)

I think the best information about the medication, any medication comes from the leaflets in the medication which explains in detail what it is for etc and how works .

I just joined and see already that I’ll get no support here as no one is talking about the reasons for their taking it and how helping . Most is people who aren’t qualified giving advice or people moaning . It’s why I’ve never joined forums and I take over 45 pills a day and have neurosurgery three times a year. Never mind . Off I go again alone

It is commonly known as Zoloft a SSRI ( selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor ). It is used for treatment of depression, anxiety, panic, ptsd, etc. It is not really one of the older antidepressants as SSRI’s are are commonly used sometimes in conjunction with other medication to treat depression and anxiety. I agree with Frederik 96, sometimes an anxiety medication or atypical antipsychotic or mood stabilizer may need to be added depending on the diagnosis and how difficult the symptoms are to manage.

Newer doesn't always mean better. As you said it depends on the individual.
