Feeling stuck and overwhelmed by my job, the upkeep of my house, living alone, insomnia…my life isn’t terrible but am struggling with frequent feelings of being stuck and overwhelmed. Which makes it so difficult to not only get through the day, but also to get anything done or enjoy myself.
Anyone else dealing with this insomnia and or feeling stuck in life? I’d like to know what others have done to combat this. Such as certain self help books, types of therapy, techniques, resources etc And or others experiences with this.

Yeah, I’m on trazodone only on work nights and hasn’t been working like it once used to. The fan some nights does work. I think I may need to come up with a wind down routine with meditation or other relaxing activities after work.
it’s an antidepressant that can also be used for insomnia. If I were to ever try anything else I wouldn’t take it with it. I’m also on escitalopram for anxiety and depression. My therapist would like for me to find out how to sleep without the trazodone eventually, just it’s taking a long time to figure out how to get there.
In the past I tried melatonin but it gave me extremely intense/vivid dreams as if everything was playing in fast motion. As well as valerian & passionflower, which I think left me super groggy. There’s a magnesium for anxiety/sleep that worked briefly. For allergies I take AllerTec and a few vitamins. Potassium/ magnesium/ D/collagen/flint stone multi
