The precious moment when you see a depressed person smile

Yesterday my friend said she overreacted, i also said I will be careful, and she called me to meet her friend who just got out of the mental hospital and is really depressed. We were making sushi and he was kinda active then he layed on her bed and looked hopeless. Gave him some time in case he was overwhelmed and i checked up on him. His depression was hitting. He started getting depressed thoughts. Said "If u want to talk i'm here, If not too". He had thoughts of being scared of ending up at the hospital again. Snapped out of it. Then had thoughts of why isn't depression cured. Talked to him but also wanted to go out of the theme. I got a stuffed frog and said it jumped on him. He said it's not a frog, it's a turtle ninja. But it had no shell so it was a frog. My friend gave us teddy bears and we played with them. So precious seeing him smile.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling good because you made a person smile. It definitely helps us when we help others.

For real ❤️

That’s nice. No one is too old for stuffed animals!!! They are cute. I actually have a stuffed teddy bear I still love so much. And I’m 52. Yes, I know, very immature. But it brings a smile to my face.🙂

Good for you! That's a beautiful story. If you ever feel as if you're not making progress, remember that you were able to be there for this person and make a difference in his life. I hope you'll share this story with your sister, just to give her another reason to be proud of you.

Well, I hope you write this story down somewhere beside on this site. It would be a perfect foundation for a short story.
