can anyone help another week another problem for me, a big health anxiety trigger of mines is blood clots ect especially in my legs, I noticed a slight pain in my leg while walking around the shops earlier and just checked it and noticed the vein in my left leg at the side of my knee looks kinda dark almost bruised. Now I’m in full panic mode, I called the dr and the receptionist wouldn’t let me speak to a dr today. I can’t even remember if it’s always looked like that or if I’m noticing because I’m panicking.
Thank u xxx

Thank you so much! Clots are such a trigger for my health anxiety 😥 so I’m not even sure if the vein has always looked like that, I explained to the receptionist at my Drs but she told me she wouldn’t put it through to the duty Dr as it doesn’t sound like an emergency and I’ve to book a routine appointment which is 2 weeks away 😩 I’m still kind of in full blow panic mode 😓 but your comment some what has given me a little comfort thank you so much xxxx
Yes you say you felt a slight pain, but as snowdaze says if you had a blood clot in your leg you’d know it,my Aunt had one and she was rushed in as an emergency the pain was so bad, I’d make an appointment just to check it out.
I’m just off the phone with nhs 24 and they weren’t concerned at all, she said she thinks it could be a bruise coming up ect but doesn’t typically sound like a blood clot or anything concerning
Have you ever had a blood clot? I think they are more painful and I would expect one in your leg in a generally healthy 24yo person would go away on its own anyway.
FYI some women get weird bruises. They don’t know why and it really isn’t studied. I do and if I hit something I don’t remember. They don’t hurt much… maybe like a bruise. They aren’t anything serious.
Call ur GP & ask for an appointment, or see the practice nurse , yes to get appointments for either are like gd dust currently BUT if U feel U can't wait then call 111 & ask for the number for the crisis team in ur area . Its what I did when I had a major incident & now I'm under the NHS mental health care team in my area.
Remember ur calling not about the clot as U said the clots seem to be a by product of the anxiety that's got hold of U. There may well be other things that U haven't disclosed that could be all part of it. Our bodies are our greatest Allies to tell us where it hurts or our worst enemies when it decides not to tell our minds & so causes issues in our minds.
If you had a blood clot, the area would most likely be hot, red and swollen. Hope all is ok.
I bruise easily and normally have a good amount of pain in my legs when I walk a lot. It looks like how my leg looks when I bruise easily. When I am feeling pain in my legs like that and have a bruise, I like to use liniment to help with the pain. I use Yager's. It really does help. Does not smell great but it works. I hope your leg is feeling better and you are having a great day.
Blood clots can be scary, especially if we're not used to these things. I found out I had a blood clot on the retina of my eye during a visit to the retinologist who I was referred to by my optometrist during a routine annual eye exam who suspected something was wrong when he looked into my eye. The good news is that it's been over a year and with some medication and regular visits to the retinologost and a vascular surgeon, plus a low dosage aspirin, there's been no new blood clots and thank God, no heart attack or stroke or anything like that. You'll be fine if you just attend to it and hang in there. Good luck to you.
