If I had a blood clot in my leg would I have symptoms other than pain? Like I have no swelling no redness and no hot patches but I’ve had cramp in my calf/foot for three days now and a pain in my knee/side of knee when I move a certain way. I don’t know why my mind when right to blood clot, but that’s health anxiety for you and now I am FREAKING out. I called my dr on Friday and she actually made me feel stupid for questioning blood clot, she said it definitely doesn’t sound like one as id have “ swelling “ but I can not shake this fear, it’s ruining my days, I’m constantly feeling my legs and comparing them in the mirror. I just got over a chest infection too, I’m a little over weight too which is playing on my mind too! The cramp goes from my calf to sometimes my thigh, my ankle or my foot and it’s all I’m thinking of so maybe anxiety is causing this? But my knee is definitely hurting when I move a certain way. My partner said it’s because I’ve been sitting funny with my leg bent behind me! Sorry for the long winded post just so scared and unsure what to do ☹️ Do I call nhs 24???
Thank you guys for constantly listening and replying to my posts I know how frustrating it must be xxxx

Well it’s always good to get things checked if you feel like it is something serious but if doctors have said you were okay then you may be experiencing the loop of anxiety the more you think about it the more you’ll notice it and such. I do the same thing with my chest pain and I even have stabbing leg pain that shoots down my legs and hurts so bad calf thigh butt.
I think it’s more that the Dr wouldn’t see me and it was just discussed over the phone, but I am very much the same the more I think about things I think I feel pain but it’s always that “ what if this time it is bad “
Yeah I’ve convinced myself I was dying over the last 3 months it’s horrible. Every little thing I think I’m dead. I’ve let my anxiety and stress get way to far out of control.
The smart money is on your doctor. No redness, no swelling, doesn't tick the boxes for blood clots. Anyway, people your age aren't allowed to have blood clots.
It certainly sounds like Health Anxiety. And you are asking this question on an Anxiety forum. But I think your doctor should have seen you, a physical examination is more likely to bring the reassurance you need. Shouldn't have made you feel stupid for asking, if it's spoiling your day your doctor should take you seriously. That's their job.
There's a very small chance you've sprained a tendon or a few muscles. Happened to me once in my arm, it was inflammation caused by tendonitis. The doctor gave me Naproxen, worked like a magic bullet. The next time I tried it it gave me the belly ache from which even omeprazole didn't protect me.
So maybe see how it is in a couple of days time and if it's still there ring the doc again and tell her you're very concerned and you need her to check it out even if it's just for reassurance.
But just accept it until then, no constant checking, there are far better things to worry about.
About 2 months ago, I experienced a sudden appearance of calf pain in my left leg when walking. I’ll call it a cramp. This cramp would start after walking 20 or so steps and would stop when I stopped walking. There was no swelling, but there was a slight bluish tinge on the smallest toe on my left foot. A pressure check on my 4 extremities revealed a 50% reduction in blood flow below my left knee, which was caused by a partial obstruction in my artery (not my vein). This partial obstruction was relieved during an angiogram and I no longer have the cramp. You might need to consult a vascular medical group.
I went for annual optometrist check up and he saw something in my retina that he didn't like so he sent me to a retinolologist who said it's a blood clot. I was then sent to a vascular surgeon who consulted with my primary physician who has prescribed blood thinners but thankfully there's no pain or anything. I hope you don't have any pain either. So far it seems that the medication is working because the retinologist keeps telling me that it looks good, to keep in taking the meds and come back for a follow up appointment in.three months. I guess they worry that the b.c. will travel to the brain or heart and cause major damage. Anyhow no worries about your post. ...glad you're posting and sharing with us. It helps everyone. Hi there, I think you may be panicking just a tiny bit.
A blood clot in the leg would most likely be in your calf muscles, and it tends to happen with folk who are sedentary, on bed rest for instance, rather than active. You would have a large amount of swelling in most of the leg and a very hot area over the site of the clot.
I think you may be a little dehydrated, given the hot weather of late. My doctor said to me Try drinking Tonic water, as the Quinine in it will help with any cramp you have. Just a glass at night will help. I get cramps in my feet at night too.
There are many things that can go wrong with knees; I have one very duff one, I tried to help someone one frosty night, slipped and it's been getting worse ever since. (no good deed goes unpunished!🤣)
