New perspective on anxiety

Hopeful_and_happy profile image

I was chatting with a therapist that I’m going to start seeing while I’m transitioning back on to Prozac. She stated that sometimes it helps viewing anxiety as a flu or a cold that you have at the moment. And something just-clicked!

How is this period of me not feeling so great any different? It’s a week of me getting back on my feet! I need to be gentle on myself and accept that my body is going through something, but that I WILL get better. I was also told by my therapist that in a week’s time, I will feel much better, which I truly believe as I feel better today. I can do this, it will just take time!

Hi Hopeful, I've been on the weaning process myself and agree that it takestime and patience to come down off a medication. And even with that done,

give the brain time to readjust in being able to produce the chemicals needed

on it own (a healing process)

Stay positive. Meditation and Relaxation can help keep you on an even keel

while going through this. Good Luck going forward :) xx

I’m weaning back ON the Prozac, but I’m sure that the same applies ❤️ I just need time to produce the chemicals needed to help me live again instead of just survive

The same does apply in giving it time to build back up before feeling the effects. However, it shouldn's take as long because you weren't off it that long. My best :) xx

I sure hope it won’t take as long! It’s probably been out of my system entirely for about a month or so
