I have terrible racing thoughts. All the time, while I’m awake, while I sleep, when I wake up: they are there 24/7. I’m on some medication that I don’t think is helping (Seroquil).
Can anyone share with me their advice on how to deal with racing thoughts? Is there a medication that helps? Please let me know, thanks, this is seriously so hard.

I am the same at the minute. My head is so full it hurts. I put some relaxing rain sounds on spotify last night to try and block it all out. Unfortunately it only worked for a few hours then I was up all night with anxiety but a few hours is better than nothing. Also try white noise / black screen on youtube. That often helps if you only concentrate on the sound.
Rumination is a common aspect particularly of anxiety and even depression. One of the best things you can do for yourself is learn and practice simple mindfulness mediation which will enable you to learn to let your thoughts come and go like clouds and not be attached to them. You'll find that thoughts are just thoughts and have no power over you. They are usually just a way of distracting you from being present and facing what is really bothering you. It takes time and is not a quick fix but learning to never believe you anxious thoughts is key to recovery from anxiety.
Finding the right med that works for you can also help. I tried a half-dozen meds without success and then did a psychopharmacological test that used my dna to determine which meds were best suited for me genetically. I started on one it recommended and it has worked well. My test was from Genesight and was paid for by my insurance. There are also natural solutions you might look into. There is a good book available "The anti-anxiety food solution" by Trudy Scott that has a lot of information about, supplements and diet in it.
The other thing that helped me was reading the DARE Anxiety book and youtube videos, they have a lot of info about rumination and how to heal from anxiety/panic.
Really liked the post by Design guy. Those racing thoughts are the 'pits' and your description of them and helps you offer are something for me to ponder. Another thought to have racing through my mind!
