Hi. I am sorry to hear this. It must be awful for you. I'm on Lexapro. As with any medication, it takes awhile to build up in your system. I would talk to your doctor about any concerns you might have regarding it.

You're welcome. Oh, ok. I hear you. Being negative can definitely put a damper on things. Somehow you need to try and turn that around. I know it's tough, but please try. You owe it to yourself. You know what I've started telling myself? I've started talking to the hurt, little girl in me and asking her what she needs.

You just helped me,now, I’ll try to help you. I would do ‘as prescribed’! That way, it goes bad, sue the Doctor! Straight up, get a doctor you trust, have faith in. That what is most important! Gets a lot easier then. Best I got! Best to you Shelly

Just try to make it simple. Prioritize. Most important, on down. I think just that helps ‘See’ ya later

Hi Shelly. As with most ADs, you usually have to wait for 2 to 3 weeks for the Lexapro to build up in your system and work. You can't get addicted to Lexapro or any AD. I've been on Lexapro for years, and while I've had down times, it has really helped with my depression. I wish you the best on your recovery!

Try not to worry and if you have concerns ask your doctor. Once the medication builds up in your system if it helps then it's worth taking. I think about my medication this way, if I had high blood pressure I would be prescribed medication for it. I have anxiety and depression which are also medical conditions. Sadly many people judge me for having depression and anxiety and taking the medication I need for it. So I don't tell anyone that doesn't need to know what medications I take. I really hope the Lexapro helps.
