I used to think that daydreaming for several munutes every day about what I wish my life had looked like or putting myself in a total different life where I can change things to be I want them to be was normal. Not until when I read it somewhere that it was a mental condition called maladaptive daydreaming. I find my self loosind focus a lot and spend my time daydreaming of another me in another whole different time and place. I thought it was my own way of finding relief from my slight depression but now I can't sit for more than 20 minutes without getting distracted even when I am in class. Do I need help?

If it is constant you might want to consider help with it. I was a dreamer too. For me, I was hiding out, missing life. Some form of dissociation. Do you have an illness? No. You are concerned on your own, so that is a good sign
Thanks
It would probably help you Zig.
I used to do this as well. Id spend time every day in a fantasy of my own creation. Usually in the shower. I stopped when my mental health took a turn for the worse a few years ago. Now I just ruminate when I'm left alone with my thoughts. I feel like I have no imagination anymore and I kind of miss it. I would say it's not a problem unless it's affecting your day to day life.
