I’m so nervous tomorrow 5/24 I’m going for my stress test in the morning. I’m having so much panic and anxiety today.

I'm sorry Adam. I'm wishing you the best and I'm sure it will be alright

Hi. I just read your post before this one. I'm sending encouragement your way! Our minds are extremely good at running amok and creating worst-case scenarios. Take some deep breaths. My personal favorite is 4-7-8 breathing ("the calming breath") fashioned by Dr. Andrew Weil. Breathe in to a count of 4, hold for 7, and whoosh out to a count of 8. He demonstrates how to do this on YouTube.Good luck and I'm sure you'll do great!

OK so in all honestly my first reaction was ‘he’s massively stressed so he’s going to ace the stress test.’ Then I kind of giggled. I know it was just the wording and probably the lack of sleep & the way the coffee hit me. I do believe I’m an 8 year old boy sometimes. Fart jokes, bugs & everything

So now that I’m wearing my adult clothes, what kind of stress test are you having? What are they stressing? Is this a cardiac issue? Do you mind to clarify?

I’ve seen them done but never personally participated. From what I have seen it doesn’t take very long. The weight is definitely worse than the activity. Let us know when you get home how it went OK?

Adamj, you've got this... Believe me, the waiting for 5/24 is worse than the test itself.Calm down, pull your shoulders down away from your ears and Breathe.

Good Luck my friend...Let us know how you did :) xx

You can do this! As I wrote on your previous post about this, the test itself is not difficult. You're on the treadmill a little bit(with monitors on) then get off and they do an Echocardiogram. I think it repeats again(?). The exercise one I had was 6 years ago pre back surgery. The doctor is there to monitor you as well. All very noninvasive. 2 years ago I had the nuclear one done(was unable to do the exercise) where you receive an agent via IV that stimulates your heart like you're exercising. It makes you feel really weird for several minutes but mimics the heart as if you're exercising. Hope everything goes well!! Whatever is going on at least you are being checked out. Please keep us posted. I'm sure you will do fine.

I’ve done them many times and they are very simple, non-invasive, and can be fun if you make it that way. It’s over before you know it!

You’ll be great!
