Does anyone have/feel this condition, description below? Would really appreciate some feedback from some that might, thus feeling less alone..thank you....here it goes:
Depression upon waking described by sufferers as deep sadness, a lack of desire starting the morning, a lack of motivation, feeling of emptiness, unexplained unhappiness, heaviness, and a desire to sleep as much as possible.
Morning depression is one of the hardest things someone can go through. Waking up in the morning every day, hoping to have a good day ahead, but instead, you wake up with this inexplicable feeling of dread in the center of your being, that stops you from even having a teeny-tiny positive thought. Experiencing this darkness, day in and day out leads to you feeling scared of even getting up in the morning.

thanks ynes, no we are not alone, I'm sure there's many more that suffer with this...💙
Yes, I can relate. My experience is a little different in that it is more anxiety driven which can lead to depression. Upon awakening that dreaded pit feeling hits my stomach and chest. This is very often followed by a racing heart. My first defense is to go into breathing mode, something that I learned from my mindfulness and meditation course. This helps a great deal. It is amazing what good breathing technique can do to relieve the distress.
Thanks for you reply Ella-bee...mine was driven by anxiety initially, now more a deep depression and a real yearning to remain in bed..however that did not work well when I had the anxiety...Lamictal is a mood stabilzer, really helped with the anxiety, just a suggestion but if medtation is working for you, that's gre8t! take care
Hello, you are welcome. I do use medication during a "break the glass anxiety episode." I have come to realize that the medication can be helpful and that there is no need to always try and work through it.
