I found a small social anxiety group online. When I asked what do I say to new people I meet after being in isolation for so long, two thought I should tell the truth from the outset. I'm so scared that people will be scared off, as mental health issues sound scary. Do you agree with the opinion I've been given? Has anyone done this?

I wouldn’t say you have to share that right off the bat. If it comes up or is headed that direction you can certainly choose to share. Others may have the same feelings we just don’t know. They may be able to relate to you and you won’t have to hide it as it will be out in the open.
Thank you for your post. Your concerns are valid when meeting anybody for the first time. The people online usually have a good understanding of the group topic so wouldn't be scared by anything you post so long as you stay within the group guidelines. Your experience is unique to you. It is totally your decision on how much to disclose to the group. Your personal comfort zone will decide this. You might decide to tell more to your medical person than to a group and that's perfectly okay.
It makes me feel good that some people understand. Thank you.
