Welcome! You will find a lot of caring people here who understand.
Does your dr know, can you change meds? I know how frustrating that is. I can't take alot of antidepressants. Made me feel worse. Some
Of them make you feel worse and then you feel better. Maybe you haven't given it long enough.
hi, let me come straight to the point medicine is not the best option to deal with depression as medication has higher side effects and it can affect the mood very badly. As I am not a medical expert but I will recommend you counseling through my own experience, counseling worked very well for me I am sure it will work for you too. Please have a look at this ezcareclinic.com/depression... to know everything about your situation/counseling I am sure you find it helpful.Best of luck.
This looks like another Spam message, The poster has not made any other postings, just this ad for another paid Therapy.
You are taking it very wrong. I am here to share my experience that's all. This might really help someone to deal with their problems.
Usually medicaments take at least two weeks to show effects. Also, sertraline is knows as a starting point because gives good results in most (but not all) cases. If you passed two week maybe its a good idea to visit your doctor ant discuss it. There are other alternatives.
Hi there, before I start, can I just say that Sertraline has gave me my life back....unfortunately it takes a long time for it to work, forget the 2 weeks you are told, give it at least 3 months, and be prepared for ups and downs, to many people give up on medication or chop and change it before it's given a proper chance. You will hopefully soon notice the good days outweigh the bad days. If you can't stick it out or feel Sertraline may not be for you then I would go back and see your GP.
This site is a really good place for support from people who understand. It takes time to recover from anxiety and depression, as others say, give yourself plenty of time, months not weeks. Sertraline affected my stomach badly so I eventually switched to escitalopram. For me it needed time and lots of methods ... medication, being out in nature, walks, focusing on the present, counselling, support, seeing friends and a routine. Slowly got back to me and less aware of negative emotions. Throw everything at getting well including time, you are worth it.
Things that help me. 2 rounds of the Wim Hof guided breathing exercises free on you tube. Before you get out of bed. The 3 round one not 5 round. 30-40 minutes of daily cardio exercise to produce endorphins. And a 5 minute cold shower daily. Google cold shower therapy for mental health.
Hello and welcome. It usually takes 4 - 6 weeks before medication starts to take affect. When I was on sertraline I didn't have any side effects except for some mild sexual dysfunction (delayed climax). Because of your anxiety and it making you hyper-vigilant and so focused on any changes or lack of changes it can sometimes seem like the med is not working and making things worse, which may be what you are experiencing. Try to relax and give yourself the time and self-compassion to allow the med to take effect. One of the therapies that appealed to me and helped me is ACT Therapy which basically is about accepting and embracing the anxious and depressive feelings and thoughts and learning to be ok with them. Knowing that the saying "what we repress we must address" is true, ACT made a lot of sense to me and it might help you too.
