My anxiety is debilitating. I can't talk to anyone without having to worry about what it may make them feel like. The one person I do talk to is done hearing about it so I just don't anymore. I'm completely alone with my demons and even they are starting to sound friendly. At this moment in time I'm just lost and done.

I'm over all of it
There are many kinds of therapies for anxiety disorder. There are meds, there are qualified therapists you can deal with one to one and there are some very good self help books.
I've been around anxiety disorder for nearly 50 years and I'm a great admirer of Claire Weekes who many years ago set forth her Acceptance method in her first short book titled "Self help for your nerves" in the U.K. and "Hope and help for your nerves" in the U.S. Over the years her method has allowed countless thousands of people worldwide to first understand their anxiety and secondly how to come to terms with it and recover.
Doctor Weekes died many years ago but her books continue to sell on the normal online outlets. Recently her biography was published under the title 'The woman who cracked the anxiety code'. That title to me perfectly sums up her achievement.
Weekes herself experienced anxiety disorder as a young woman. So she knew exactly how we feel and her method was devised to help herself recover from this debilitating illness. She then spent the rest of her life advocating her method through personal consultations, public appearances on TV and at public meetings and by writing further books.
As you begin to read her words you acquire reassurance, understanding and the feeling that she knows you personally - it's almost as if she is sitting next to you and is talking exclusively to you.
Doctor Claire Weekes' method is simple. I said simple not necessarily easy. It is certainly not a quick fix. Her teachings can be described in 6 words:
Face - Accept - Float - Let time pass.
Weekes claimed her method can cure anybody of anxiety disorder and the depletion (depression) that is the result of anxiety no matter how long or how deeply they have suffered.
As I always say: if you only read one more book in your life then this is that book. If you've already read it then read it again.
I am struggling with severe anxiety and can relate. It's really hard to function when it's a point that is so debilitating and interfering with your every move. I recommend speaking with a therapist and psychiatrist. Set specific goals and use targeted interventions as well. Personally, my anxiety is a form of OCD and mental compulsions too. I have specific thoughts related to particular fears for hours on end. While having these thoughts I can't stop them and become unaware of my surroundings or anything outside that fear. I am starting a new medication that should help diminish the compulsiveness of engaging with these thoughts. Hopefully this will help me
I hope the new medicine will help you as well. I unfortunately have not had very good luck with medicine but I know many that have. One day at a time
Thank you. I hope so too because nothing has helped in the past for anxiety, I am taking a cocktail of meds including Lexapro, Seroquel and trazadone and I in addition to those i tried the anxiolytics like Xanax and Klonopin as needed which did nothing. (And they supposedly addictive)
Oh yes very familiar with those ones with little success. The Lexapro wasn't too bad but the Klonopin made me feel something awful.
