I so so so hate anxiety. All of a sudden you having a decent day it is just start to bubble up in you feel it coming on and he seems though I cannot stop it. I was also told I believe that I have to go through it the dogs are some mess like that. I really want to avoid anxiety thoughts altogether. So I have a prescription for Xanax which supposed to be fast acting and I take one sparingly every once in a while. But the last anxiety I had was so strong that it last for days that I asked my medical doctor for a different kind that I can take daily that hopefully will stop things anxiety altogether. I just hate that feeling…. Uncontrollable Feelings that seem to just sneak up on you. They said the medicine that I have won’t really take affect till four weeks really there’s nothing that I can take that will have an affect sooner than later. So I haven’t started taking it it’s been in my purse for about a week or so. Damn if I do damned if I don’t but I just want to get rid of anxiety

Hi. It’s Shnookie. Sorry 😐 that U R suffering from anxiety. The reality is that many meds do take time to kick in. Do U have a therapist ? I understand your apprehension about taking the Med but I would suggest talking to your doctor. I’m here 4 U. Hugs 🤗 S

Thanks thanks thanksYes hi do you have a therapist about for the last 3 to 4 weeks. They really don’t well she really did say yes take the medicine or don’t take the medicine. She said it’s something I have to talk to the doctor about which I did and they prescribe it but it still up to me to take it. And considering it won’t take it away I’m thinking why I take it. Thanks again for the support and the hugs

Hi RosaRita xUnfortunately, we can't wish Anxiety away. Medication can help only if you take it

out of your purse and start taking it every day. It sounds like the doctor gave you

an SSRI which can take from 4-6 weeks to reach full efficacy. The benzos (xanax)

are only for occasional anxiety. What most of us have is anxiety that goes on and on.

For that you need the levels of medication to be consistent in your body.

Besides meds, as Shnookie asked, a therapist can be very helpful in putting you

back on a safe path in working out your fears and doubts. Also, learning other

methods to keep your stress levels low are important as well.

Changing your lifestyle, having coping tools that you practice each and every day

are a part of getting well and even healing. Just as with medication, the right tool

can keep your mental state in a more positive frame of mind. So that if or when

you feel anxiety whelming up in you, you automatically reach for this tool and stop

the sensation before it grows. Never fearing it but accepting that it will soon pass

gives you more control over Anxiety. :) xx

Hi it’s Shnookie. U R totally correct. I use cognitive therapy tools, deep breathing positive visualization, listening to music I like and journaling. Take care

With a tablet for anxiety it is important to take it as directed, because it isn't the same as a headache pill.

These anti anxiety meds need to reach a certain level in your body before you will start to feel a difference. It is the constant level in the bloodstream which will help your anxiety. and, as you doctor says,it will take around 4 weeks before you start feeling the benefit.

If you have doubts about medicines, have a talk to your local Pharmacist.
