I sometimes feel so overwhelmed with my job, that I often wonder if this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. It makes me wonder if people have jobs they truly enjoy and actually help their anxiety/depression or doesn’t affect you in a negative way.
When I have anxiety, the last thing I want to do is work, but also because I feel it takes me away from the things I feel will make me feel better like my family.

people with depression have all sorts of careers. I don’t know anybody who have done the same thing all their life. Maybe thinking a little shorter term would take away some of the pressure? Open yourself up to thinking outside the box. If you need ideas seek out career counseling…from a person or online. Most importantly be open to possibly.
Thank you for the advice. I’m constantly worrying about long term, so you saying to think short term helps me realize maybe I need to approach this differently. I’ve done career counseling before, but maybe I could look into that again.
I understand where you're coming from. I often feel the same where I get anxiety because I would much rather be home with my child as opposed to at work. I get separation anxiety and sometimes can't focus on work because I'm thinking about my family instead. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who feels this way, but I'm sorry you experience it too. I have a colleague who has two young children and she seems the opposite where she is at work before me and stays after I leave and said she loved when she could have her kids in many hours of childcare a day as possible, whereas, I'm most content when I'm with my child/family vs. work.
